nutribullet2016

I did a search on this site and found the coupon code "nutribullet2015" but that didn't work anymore so I tried "nutribullet2016" and got a $20 discount. It didn't work for the 9400.

Not much of a saving, but I gave you an up-vote as these are a very good blender from a good seller. Much more powerful than most you see advertised. I've had one for years and its still going as good as ever.

    • +2

Agreed. Got a 9400 about 5 years ago and it's still running now. Only thing I had to do was change the ball bearings for the blade assembly as it was starting to rust and leak into the jug while blending.

      • +2

Did the rusty swirl look cool?

        • Makes your stuff turns rustic and tastes rustic too

      • How the heck do you change the bearings on the blade? goddamnit that sounds hard!
        Is it one of thse?
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vita-mix-Replacement-1151-Blade-S…

I threw mine out :( paid $45 for a replacement, works fine.
If it's that unit, it's pretty well built, looks hard to replace so any info would be nice.

It's a pretty fun task. Would say it's medium difficulty. Removing the shaft and the ball bearings are the toughest as you need to to hammer the shaft out. Learned how to do it through https://protyposis.net/blog/fixing-a-leaking-or-stiff-vitami…

        • @Hunnypooh: Oh wait……. the shaft not the actual blade? My blade ceased, my shaft is all good (NEVER LET WATER GET DOWN THERE) so my sticker says.

EDIT, no wait that is the internal bit, damn good work with that. Wish I didn't throw it out now! Oh well.

        • @hamwhisperer: yeah the internal bit. Ball bearings are darn cheap so I reckon why not give it a go. Well, now you will know what to do with your next blade assembly

        • @Hunnypooh:

Well done. But I wouldn't risk self maintenance on a blender running at god knows how many RPM. The user could be at risk of harm.

        • @justtoreply: yeah pretty similar to self maintaining a car I reckon, though more things can go wrong with a car

This thing looks like my Omniblend which is a JTC offshoot, (3 blenders) - which is basically the Vitamix motor, right?
I'm on year 3 and it's still a beast. I think I've lost 5% max out of it but I've pushed mine particularly hard compared to most people.

  • What do you put inside the jugs - any good recipes?

Kale, beetroot, lemon, ginger, goji berries, frozen spinach, flax seeds, avocado, water.
Not in that order and that's an 'experienced' green smoothie recipe, it doesn't taste as good as a fancy sweet drink but it's surprisingly palatable for an extremely healthy breakfast.

I wouldn't recommend it for a newbie, go on youtube and type in green smoothie instead.

      3 huge tips.

Make sure it's damn cold somehow (fridged ingredients, add the ice last, even freeze some ingredients)
Use a thick straw, it makes the taste and texture MUCH better (imagine a McDonalds shake but you drink it like a coffee? Nope! - the straw helps heaps)
If you're on the super healthy route lemon has such 'zest' to it, that a cold lemon smoothie with some wildly boring and bitter vegies tastes HEAPS better than it would without lemon.

Start with a greater fruit to veg ratio and move to add more veg later as you get used to it. I'm on 2 fruits and 2or 3 veg. Breakfast for 2.

Good summer recipe is pineapple, cucumber, spinach and mint.

        • Exactly, maybe some ice in that one you got there and I'd be inclined to up the spinach because I don't like em too sweet anymore.

      • We make up zip-lock sandwich bags of pre-sliced fruit; apple, orange, kiwi, beetroot, kale, strawberries, rasberries, melon (etc), and put these bags in the freezer. Then take a bag at a time, add juice (apple/pear/whatever), filtered water, and blend for 30sec to 1 minute. Makes a couple of delicious smoothies. Quick and easy.

  • +1 top blender. Aussie made too!

    • aussie owned, not made in australia.

      • Yep, this guy is correct.

Before you buy please keep this in mind.

I'm now on my third blender…..

My last blender the blade came loose and smashed the jug into pieces and after fighting with froothie they finally replaced it.
My current blender is having a similar issue.

Been trying to conact them every few days without much help.

When the blending is working it creates some of the best smoothies….. when it's working…..

I should add that i have to keep tightening the screw every use until Froothie get back to me.
    It's now collecting dust.

    • Dang, that nut ain't supposed to be easy to remove,at least when I tried dismantling the blade assembly that is.

    • Should be 5 year warranty. Shouldn't have any issues with the company. They are probably closed over Christmas. I've returned one (unwanted gift) and no problem at all. My 9400 is currently 4 years going strong (still original jug) - that's with daily juicing. It even survived a power surge.

      • I want to believe the lack of customer service is due to Xmas but the same thing happened in July …..

i really wanted to avoid coming online and bad mouthing them but others should be warned.

If someone showed me the screenshots I've attached it would be more than enough evidence.

    Another warning here.

These are EXACTLY the same as the cheap $100-$150 blenders you can buy off ebay.
You are paying extra for marketing only. I gave up after my second blender broke.
Got an ebay blender and dismantled it to appease my curiosity. As i suspected they are the same blender.
Yes, they are very powerful and blend great when they work. But quality is seriously lacking.
The only two choices worth considering are-
    1. Buy an ebay blender for $100-$150. They do work great an 'could' last a very long time, but could also self destruct.
    2. Buy a genuine Vitamix or Blendtec for $700+ and it will last forever.

(or you could buy a second hand Vitamix/Blendtec off ebay/gumtree for @$350)
