EB Games Return

Hi,

Im new here, any help is appreciated.

My wife bought an Xbox bundle + extra controller as a Gift, the store told her that returns are ok to Mid Jan.

What is the policy if I have opened both the console and controller and want to return all?

Thank you!

Why are you returning the item for one?

Change of mind is not usually given a refund and if the bundle had any codes or DLCs they wont refund you for those due to the nature of fraud

I would say possibly ring them and ask but I can't see them giving you a full refund for a "used" open box console even if it wasn't taken out

Try your luck I say but if I was a store manager, I would be wanting to cross check everything to ensure everything is original / not swapped out etc as you are very well aware people could just put a faulty unit back in the box and take it back within a week claiming it was an "unwanted gift"

I can't judge you as a person but I am skeptical

Why open the box when you wanted to return it?

In my experience as long as everything is in the box in salable condition they will refund you.

Depends if they think they can sell it again at full price. So if you've broken the seals on the box, disposed of any of the packaging, used it in any way that is evident…. you're probably shit out of luck.

To put it another way, if you saw your console sitting on a retail shelf, would you be happy to pay full price for it?

    • pais, it depends how you look at it
why buy something it, open it and return it

This reeks of fraud / someone trying to do a dodgy job

      • The point is they offer a no questions asked full refund within 7-10 days. If you decide after 6 days that you don't want it any more, as long as you're returning it in full, their policy says they refund.

      • I worked for a major retailer for many years, so I can assure you that this is something that happens all the time and it's perfectly innocuous 99% of the time. So I'm operating under the assumption that OP is a straight shooter since I have no reason to presume otherwise, and I'm giving some advice as to what he can expect from the retailer's perspective.

      • Man gets Xbox as unexpected gift.
Man tries Xbox but doesn't want to keep it.

A bit unfair to say it "reeks of fraud / someone trying to do a dodgy job".

        • nothing about being unfair, it comes across this way by how the OP wrote the original post

Why buy something to return a week later

Affects warranty and then next user

I sure you would be "smashed" if you bought an xbox and had 2 weeks of your warranty taken from you

  • The next person to pick this unit up is gonna get an pre activated xbox lol

  • Maybe you should just return it now (without opening it) since you're having doubts.

  • I would assume the "returns are okay to mid June" only if unwanted (and unopened/unused) gift.

Not many people would not want a new xbox.
