Looking to buy a new outright phone

Hi guys I'm currently in the process of looking for a new phone. Currently using the iPhone 6 Plus and on the Telstra BYO phone plan. I'm currently looking at either the HTC 10 or the one plus 3t. However opened to suggestions. Please give me your thoughts on which phone you would recommend. Probably should state that I'm not looking to spend more than 1k on a new phone hence why I'm here asking you guys what's the best bang for your buck phone.

I've been fairly happy with the Oppo F1s, sure it's not in the same league as the HTC, but it has made a nice replacement for my M8 that was dying.

A couple of drawbacks are no NFC and the O/S takes a little getting used to (it's not horrible… but it's not pretty). But at 1/3 of the cost, it's not too shabby.

  • whats the reason that you want to change OS?

    • No reason really, I'm just sick of the 16gb on my iPhone and I don't particularly want to pay the price of a new iPhone either. That's why I'm looking at cheaper alternatives

Then I would say Huawei Mate 8 from mobileciti or jbhifi.

I have been using a 32GB Xiaomi Mi 5 from past couple of months. Bought it for just under 320$. Very happy with the performance.

Memory: Internal: 64 GB / RAM: 6 GB / Slot type: microSD / Max. slot capacity: 2 TB
    Display: 5.7" / Super AMOLED / Resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels
    Camera: 23 MP / PixelMaster / Flash: Dual Real-tone LED / OIS / Video: 4K UHD / Front: 8 MP

Supports Band 28 - 6GB RAM and probably the most coveted thing I look for in phones - microSD support for the times when you can't get a signal.

Around 700 to 800 AUD online (grey + local Aussie stock)

Otherwise, if you can wait a bit - Huawei Mate 9 should be arriving soon and prices will drop with this many flagships cluttering the space.
