Credit card charges with a business name I don't recognise

Has anyone had the experience of finding a credit card charge they don't recognise the business name of? I recently got a charge from MIKE HOLDINGS PTY LTD FORESTUILLE show up on my credit card but I did a quick google and couldn't find anything on this company. I'm thinking about disputing the charges. Anyone know what the company could be or how I can find out?

Business name is Metro Petroleum but google search shows it's actually United.

Did you buy Petrol that day from United Petroleum Islington here? That would be it

  • It's not the fuel station there?

  • Yes. But then googled or I remembered what I purchased on that day (or around that day…sometimes the transaction date on your statement could be up to a week late)

    • Not the one on Nelson Bay road?

      • no, it was most probably on waringah road forestville.

  • Yea sometimes places have random business names. It's best to save receipts and then match then later against the amount.

  • Yes, alot of my credit card 'business names' are something random, especially from random restaurants , clothes shops etc.

  • It was a brothel, they usually have random names on receipts.
Trying to get that shit claimed through work is a nightmare.

  • The MasterCard statement shows "spicy dogs" for my local "Snack bar".
