OnePlus 3T or ZTE Axon 7 from Aliexpress?

Hey all,

I'm looking into getting a new phone (upgrading from my Galaxy Note 3) and I was thinking about either going for the ZTE Axon 7, Leeco LeTV Le Pro 3 or Oneplus 3T. I'm pretty interested in the Le Pro 3 because of it's giant 4070 mAh battery but unfortunately it currently only comes in gold or rose gold colours which I'm not a big fan of. The Axon 7 I think the battery might be a little small considering it's a QHD screen and running a less (only maybe 10%) efficient processor. On the plus side, the Axon 7 (4GB+128GB) can be had for $369 USD (~$332 with 10% cashwards cashback).

On the other hand there's the Oneplus 3T (6GB+64GB) for $442 USD (~$397 USD with cashrewards) which is the cheapest I've seen so not really sure which one to go for. $70 USD is almost $100 AUD and I don't know if the Oneplus is worth the extra price premium. Could you guys please tell me your opinion or vote or whichever you prefer one because I'm having a hard time deciding.

Thanks!

  • Hey guys! Thanks for voting for the OP3T but can anyone give a little insight as to why?

    • I'll skip over the hardware differences.

From what I've seen, the OP3T has much better prospects of being updated/developed for. This means that at the end of its product life, you're likely to be able to tinker with the device to extend its working life.

Also of note is that you'll find accessories for the 3T more easily than you will the Axon (or the Le Eco). If damaging your phone is a real concern, you can grab an Otterbox case for it, or a Spigen case if you don't anticipate throwing your phone at walls.

Edit: noting that Le Eco is an option on the poll, be aware that the company isn't exactly stable at the moment.

    • For me, the differences in hardware don't really affect me

Axon 7 has band 28 and SD card slot (doubles as 2nd SIM slot)
I'll be using it to replace my dual sim Z3 which doesn't have band 28 and I haven't had any coverages issues

So the other difference is software for me. I've heard of some software issues on the Axon which is my main sticking point

Oxygen OS seems to have very good reviews. Is it worth the extra $100?
Maybe depends if you can put up with these software issues on the Axon

I upgrading from Note 3. Hoping to get lastest note, But it chose to explode.
Brought a Redmi note 3. Love it so much. Kills the Samsung.
Ill even go as far to say 5 months in, Im loyal.
4 of my mates have also brought the redmi.
Everyone was suprised with a sub $250 phone

  • Upgraded from Xperia Z1 to Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pro prime months ago for $230. Everything runs well and smooth, the only downside is the camera (however for $230 I am not regretting my decision).

  • Where would be the best place to purchase the oneplus 3t? I'm also looking to get one
