You couldn't pay me to fly Etihad. Staff on all four of my flights were abysmal. Transiting through Abu Dhabi Airport was a total nightmare.

I have flied with Etihad 3 times and all 3 times the service was great.

How was your experience with Abu Dhabi Airport? When we arrived there it involved 30 minutes on the tarmac then another hour busing people to the dated and crowded terminal. A total shambles. Do you really want to put up with that after a 14 hour flight?

        • 2 of the times it was fine, 1 of the times it was like hell, they had construction where the noise was deafening but wouldn't stop me flying Etihad again.

        • @orange123: Qatar seems to have some good sales at the moment….has anyone transited through Doha and are able to comment on their experience? What I've read on TripAdvisor etc indicates a similar experience to what has been described here about Abu Dhabi.

      I agree on AUH airport:
      1) Had to board the bus to get to the terminal.
      2) No clear queue lines when going through security to get to the connecting gates. People were like a herd of cows.
      3) Very disorganized when queueing up at the gate. They don't have those retractable queue barriers.

    • Flew Etihad more than 30 legs, all long-haul. In-flight service and food have always been pretty good. Yes, the airport is not as organised as Changi, but bearable.

    • Should be a much better experience once they finish the new terminal

This is expensive compared to their prices recently. Wait for a discount code. I paid $1050 return to Dublin from Sydney in November. I bought the flights in early October.

I found their staff amazing. The food was average and Abu Dhabi is like Dubai. Seriously busy. I would happily pay an extra $100 to fly through Singapore but good luck finding flights on Singapore Airlines for $1150.

I also good food poisoning some time during my trip home.

I would still fly with them again if I could get flights that cheap.

  • Anyone have a promo code for Etihad?
