Issue with game code

Hi all
Today I sold my Fifa17 Digital code for Xbox on gumtree but surprisingly customer is complaining it's already been redeemed & want his money back. I am certain I have never use or share this code before. What's the best I can do? TIA

  • Well you sold it on gum tree so i don't think you have much recourse either way.

  • If you have the money, assure the buyer they must be mistaken.

  • Ask for their log in details, check account, if games there sell his account too if not refund.

    • I asked for login details but he refused

Lol I dont doubt it, if you got your cash and you know in your heart you did not use the code id offer to contact Microsoft to ask about reissueing a code, if thats not good enough for them move on.

You could ask for a screen shot of their games list - they might be more inclined to share that with you.

You can also check the code yourself and see if it is redeemed.

        • Microsoft Online chat is a joke. Trying to hit start chat button from last 20mins with no success.

        • Great I will try this thanks thatonethere

        • @thatonethere: Got a screenshot of games list from him & can confirm it's not there.

        • @BALLE BALLE: Ask for one of the product page in the store, it's possible to hide games from your list, but the store will show that he owns it. It's entirely possible to fake this part too though. (By using a different account, ect)

        • @BALLE BALLE: I guess he could have given it to someone else and then showed you he "didn't have it".

  • Sometimes with codes stored in boxes in stores is that people slip them out and copy them. Or people return them to stores "unopenned" who naively accept that all the contents have been returned and can be re-sold to another customer.

    • I have a doubt with that as it was sealed & hided inside

  • My guess would be the buyer is trying to have you on. It happens more often than you'd think. Not much you can do except try the above, or outright ignore him.

    • But i managed to get screenshot of his game list and it's not there.

You can easily hide games from that list I'm afraid. Ask him for one from the store page of the game. (But beware he could always use a different account for that picture.)

      • In that case, take it up with Microsoft. Log a support ticket and CC the other guy in.

  • Just leave it, if they don't know your details or where you live then they can't do anything about it. Tough luck for them if it legitimately didn't work for them.

    • Ho got my address already.

Do you know for a fact they're a sex worker?

I would also suggest contacting Microsoft as well after confirming it doesn't work.

  • Thanks everybody. Don't want to bother now & sent money back to buyer. I will sort it with microsoft guys later.

Common and pathetic scam. Tell the buyer to flip off

  • That's what they get for buying off scum tree
