What Is The Best Way to Use My Telstra Credit?

Hi everyone,
I'm using Telstra prepaid for last few months, and every times I recharge my account, they gave me the same credit value and by now I collect around $600 credit.
What would be the best way to use this credit?
I should mention that i'm using Apple phone and am not be able to use this credit with google play.

Thanks in advance.

Check out the wiki on Whirlpool - good suggestions there. Things like Netflix, Evernote, YouTube Red. I just bought a yearly subscription to Dramafever (watch Korean drama shows) last night for 25 bucks.

  • If you can enable Telstra carrier billing on your sim/number on an android device it's well worth it. I have one of my numbers activated on my Samsung Tab where I purchase all the things from Google Play store, it's not just apps and in-apps purchases but also includes Movies, TV shows and Music. Some users even use it for Netflix subscription.

Again, you don't need to have the sim installed on the android device to make a purchase.

    • Similar situation for me.

How does "Telstra carrier billing" work?

      • If you put the Telstra Prepaid SIM into an Android device, when you try to make a purchase through the Google Play store, it should give you an option to select Telstra Carrier Billing as one of the options. Every time you recharge you will add to the credit balance which you can use for purchases.

If it doesn't show up, jump on Telstra live chat - I had to get them to enable it on my account the first time.

        • This no longer works and is a 'grandfathered' plan.

Lucky for those of us who are still on it.

@XCelR8: Still works if you change plans to something like Simplicity/Long Life

True, but can you effectively use it, otherwise you are just paying for $30 worth of credit anyway :)

google play music which comes with youtube red
T-cashback you get half back in real money

  • can buy google play movies, pretty sure you can then watch them on your apple device

    • You can watch them through the youtube app, yeah. Probably other ways too.

  • Do you think i can get the customer service to enable it on my google account? Or i have to buy a cheap android phone?

    • Needed the sim in the phone for purchases, a $15-30 cheapie will do

      • Problem is my iPhone is using Nano sim and most of this cheap phones are using micro sim, I have to find the one with nano sim card slot.

        • You can use an adaptor, or even the plastic out of a $2 Multi fit sim
