First Car Insurance in Queensland

Hey everyone!

I've recently moved to Australia and was wondering what the cheapest comprehensive insurance would be based on peoples experiences.

So far I've had a look any RACQ, Allianz, AAMI and Suncorp. RACQ has quoted the cheapest for me at ~1500 (with windshield no excess and roadside assistance + hire car/accomodation etc.)

Some details about me and my car:

Had Ps (or the equivalent) for 4 years. Currently on Open/Full licence. No claims at all. No speeding tickets or any other infringements. I am under 25!

Car is a 2016 Honda Civic VTi with a few accessories.

Can you please direct me on which companies to avoid/go talk to based on experience? Only thing I would like is very good customer service and I don't mind paying a bit more for this.

  • If you want a good price, try Coles, Bingle, Budget and Dodo. They have usually been the cheapest quotes for me in the past.

  • My Hyundai i30 Car Insurance with excess of $750 cost me a premium of $360. I am with RACQ

  • Coles was the cheapest for me. Was with progressive online but they became more expensive year by year
