New phone arrived from Eglobal but the box has already been opened...

Hi guys,
I bought a Moto G4+ from Eglobal and it just arrived, and I went to open the box and noticed the Motorola sticker sealing the box has already been cut and there are fingerprints on the phone.
Is there any legitimate reason why they would have opened the box? Or is something dodgey going on?

Cheers guys

why you asking OZB? contact the seller……………………………………………………..

Because im sure the seller is not going to admit if they did something dodgey, and I trust plenty of guys here have experience with this company

i heard that is normal, maybe they open to put australian prong charger? or maybe they install english google play store, etc.
as long no scratches dent damage etc then its fine for me.

The Australian prong charger they included was outside of the box.

      • So perhaps they removed a (HK, USA, SG etc) charger from the box since you don't need it?

I've had the same and it's to ensure its not a DOA before they send.

  • Perhaps if it is international - Customs had a peek to see it had drugs in it etc.

Sometimes they put a sticker on to say they inspected - sometimes they just hook in and tape it back up.

    • If customs opened it, there would be a form inside stating they did so. or sticker (oops didn't finish reading)

  • I went to open the box and noticed the Motorola sticker sealing the box has already been cut

this common for international. kogan does it all the time for items sold by kogan hk.

  • It's to prevent DOA. Almost all grey import sellers do the same, but some reseal (usually to the point that you can't tell it's been opened)…some don't bother.

  • Thanks guys, I appreciate the info! :)

Just hope you don't have to RMA with eglobal

I'm going through absolute hell trying to resolve the problems I'm having with my s7 edge

First the home button wore apart
Secondly the amoled LCD screen went a purple tinge and then died completely

Sent the phone back and they've had it since December, no updates or RMA details, they never get back to me, just repeat under repairing

In all honesty it was a big risk buying from them but I don't think their good to deal with at all and the legit aspect of the phone really worries me as I've never had a amoled screen die like this before

Possibly faulty, also they don't send the phone to Samsung Hong Kong for repair another eye raising legitimacy question

I believe they're grey products but not sure where they're sourced

I won't be dealing with them again that's for sure and next time spending the extra money to get an Aussie phone from a decent vendor here

I wish the OP luck and God forbid you have any drama with your device, they should be banned from ozbargain until they get their act together with supporting the clients here

I can only reinforce the above post. In my case, they failed to repair an LG G4 phone (yes, it bootlooped) which they initially agreed they would repair under warranty. After two months and some prompting, they offered me AUD$250 in store credit instead for an item I paid over $500 for! Essentially, they employ a depreciating warranty. Obviously this doesn't come close to the cost of replacing the phone. These guys are shysters; consider your warranty worthless if you buy from them.

  • Their RMA is painful, S7 died in around a month.
They don't answer any questions, just keep repeating the same template over and over.
Had to raise a PayPal dispute to get my money back.
