Guys,
I'm looking to get any Assassin's Creed (and Battlefield) game that allows 2 players to play at the same time (not via internet, but in the same room) on a split screen… or anything similar?
I can't seem to find anything about which Assassin's Creed game allows this (I read Unity has 2 player co-op but that's via internet), so am not sure if there are any other games in that series …

Having played the whole battlefield series with the exception of BF1 - none of them offer local co-op, not sure about AC.
No split-screen for Assassin's Creed either. Seeing the other player's screen would ruin the multiplayer gameplay of hiding from assassins :D

The answer is none of both. Unfortunately the current console generation has a very small number of splitscreen games, especially belonging to the core franchises. If you want to play a splitscreen shooter you'll have to settle for Halo Masterchef Collection and Call of Duty, and for third person parkour multiplayer games you'll have to settle for…
Uh, you can play Rocket League split screen?
The Borderlands, Gears of War & Halo series' (up to 4) all have couch co-op if that helps.
