AMEX Travel - Price Matching?

Seeing as many on here have the edge or explorer, just wondering whether or not price matching is possible with AMEX travel for hotel? I see in Usa and Canada they do it but couldn't see anything on Aus site

    Nah - I've asked and was told they don't. Prices are generally competitive with other sites like Expedia.

    Other people might have been able to do it.

    I have used them for a few hotel stays before and prices are generally competitive. Even better if you have Amex reward points to convert/spend as the conversion rate, I found, is very good.

  • Some what relevant to this topic, does anyone know how to change what card I use my travel credit through on amex travel? It won't seem to let me change to different card even if I try log out

    • I have the same question!

        Answer is, book it with your card and contact AMEX within 14 days and they will credit you

        • I have 2 cards, one with $200 and the other with $400 worth of credit. Only the $200 shows up. If I book, that $200 will be applied, right? Or would you recommend removing the $200 credit from the booking and then contact Amex to apply the $400 retrospectively? I'm keen to use the $400 first.

          @bozbargain:

          only the $200 will be used if you pay using your plat edge(?). If you want to use the $400, pay with your explorer card then contact AMEX & tell them the transactions you want refunded. The $200 & $400 are seperate from each other

        • Naaah! Didn't work.
          I tried it and for my hotel, Expedia, Agoda was atleat $100 cheaper but amex refused to price match it.
