Any iPhone users had a 'banker trojan'?

Was scanning someone's PC today in the course of giving it a tuneup and Malwarebytes picked up a 'trojan banker' in their iphone backup file. I don't think it was active on the PC but 'may' have been on the actual iPhone itself. The web was a bit scant on information so I though I'd throw it out there and see if anyone else has seen this one? Looks like a nasty one, should I get him to scan his Iphone?

  • From my understanding this is a Windows malware, therefore it cannot affect iPhone in any way. Not to mention that unless that user has his iPhone jailbroken, the chances of having a real iPhone malware are extremely low.

The only possible scenario is that he has this malware in one of the apps that are used for file transfer, e.g. iFiles. He could transfer it there himself with one of his own files from a PC. Either way the malware is harmless for the iPhone itself as well.

      No it isn't.

        Care to elaborate?

  • Thanks. Fingers crossed then. I'll ask him if it's jailbroken when I see him.
