Need Advice - Mount TV behind Glass Window for Shop Front

Hi everyone

I've seen that ozbargain members are quite switched on and thought I'd reach out for advice

Have a mate who has a shop front with a few glass window panels
He had a commercial display that he wants to fit flush against a window so customers walking past can see it

Problem is, it's a 48 inch tv and there doesn't seem to be a free standing mount that has an arm where you can pull the tv away from the base and make it flush if that makes sense

There are free standing mounts however the base's have a large foot print causing the tv to be a good 5-10 cms away from the window.

It needs to be flush due to sun glare

Any help would be much appreciated

  • A good place to search would be google and using the keywords "digital signage stands" and that should give you a list of companies that design and sell the stands.

can range from cheap to expensive

  • hang it with steel cable from above

  • Use box section aluminium and secure it to mount threads on back of tv.
then mount it the top and bottom of the shopfront section.

  • +1

Id also suggest that the glass that the TV is behind is also strong and not going to be easy for want to be thieves to smash or take the TV
Happens more common than you think, having the TV back a few CM shouldn't hurt

If you cant mount it flush your best bet would be to use a "shroud" around it to reduce glare issues

Some people even go for interactive touch screens in front of their TV display which I think is pretty cool

  • thanks guys

    feedback is appreciated

Have you considered what would happen if someone punches or knocks on the window?
