Telstra have reduced their prices, but these plans are nowhere near "bargain" territory.

    • -7

      agreed.

      • please read the rules on negative posting this is nota valid negative vote -revoked

For people who can't get internet other that from Telstra or a Telstra Reseller I don't think there are better plans value plans available. I'm happy to be corrected though.

      • +5

        Correct.

Clandestino & y12345678 - they are good prices for those who only have access to Telstra. :)

    • Thats your opinion, and valid, but not a reason for a negative vote. These are those who cant get anything like ADSL2 from oher resellers because they cant be bothered to provide this to outlying exchanges. Vte revoked under our guidelines

Finally they are back in the game…

  • These have been up for about a month now, but yeah. Its a reasonable deal for me since I can only get adsl2 through telstra, and we already have a homephone which we pay $70-80 per month for. So it makes sense to bundle for me. Signed up for the 200gb bundle recently. Hopefully it gets good pings for starcraft 2! lol

  • So, is it $69.95 for 200gigs on a 2 year contract with a land line like homeline budget for $21, so the total would be $91 including line rental?????

    • I'm pretty sure these aren't available on homeline budget plans…

      • They are - Homeline Budget is considered a full fixed-line service.

        • hmm… i might have to look into this then…

  • So the "Elite 200GB - $79.95 or $69.95 with Telstra member benefit and multiple product benefit" is comparable to the current http://www.telstra.com.au/bundle_save/home-bundles-detail.ht… $148 month bundle?

Which means unlimited local and mobile calls (they are free right)?

edit: Didn't realize it wasn't a bundle deal.

Don't Telstra count all uploads as part of your quota?
    Something to consider…

    • Yes they do count uploads.

Thought I would never look at signing up to Bigpond….just maybe….

Do u get a modem/router when singing up on contract?

… If u were following the thread at whirlpool, this is NOT CONFIRMED and even if that paper is true, god knows when it is going to come out.

-ve, similar to group buys, this deal is NOT ACTIVE, and should not be posted until so.

  • think ill hook my mum up with this as she is paying 49 to tpg for 1.5 adsl 1, she is rural so helstra is the only dsl2 provider, 50gb adsl2 for $49 sounds good for her, i have her setup with gotalk voip and she just has home line budget so ill get it sorted i rekn :-)

  • @fellator, yes great point mate, i hope helstra do it

  • Fantastic deal for Zones 2 and 3. Telstra has really finally got their act into gear and has started to make broadband affordable to us all. I immediately churned to their $148 plan the moment it came out and have been enjoying unlimited free calls to all mobiles and fixed lines. It's already saved me well over 100 bux after just 1 month.

This is now a further great offer to those that don't use their home phone much. If there's a negative, it is that they haven't dropped their wholesale prices so the other poor isp's can't really try to match this value for zones 2 and 3. Hopefully the ACCC will step in soon and wholesale prices will soon drop for the other ISP's to allow them to catch up.

Long overdue but great to see this massive price drop. Finally rural and remote ppl can access what u city folk have been taking for granted.

Neg due to this being a rumour on a forum. Probably true, but no proof yet.

If/when they announce new pricing, then I'll vote positive and probably churn to Telstra cable.

    • +1

You can't vote positive after you've voted negative. :(

      :D

  • when all your smaller competitors finally show some balls and try and show up the giants, they finally turn around and go: "hey, maybe we should just lower your prices because we just lost 15% of our customer base.. just maybe.."

  • should of posted this on forums, to shut up the sook la la's

  • +2

If they had u data allowance somewhere between 2gb and 50gb i would be in.

The ACCC has finally allowed Telstra to charge a lower price for its plans because it has lost it's majority share of the internet market.
New deals come out on the 3rd Aug.

  • Stix, the deal is not yet made available/confirmed. Sorry but this will need to be unpublished until further confirmation can be established. i.e. officially published on their website or some sort of media announcement. If one already exist, either talk to a mod or report the post and I'll be more than happy to re-publish this deal.

Meanwhile, please feel free to discuss this in the forums.

    • No worries Pauly.

  • Looks like the plans are out.
