Trying to book some flight to Europe as cheap as possible. I checked my ANZ rewards points and looks like I have enough to get $1250 worth of Flight Centre gift cards. Has anyone ever tried to do a price match with them and then paid for part of the ticket with gift cards?

Out of curiosity how come you don't tell them beforehand? Do they get funny about it and not help you/say it can't be done?
If they say they can't help you, doesn't that mean they can't beat the price, and as per their policy, you should fly for free? Maybe they'll say something like their policy doesn't cover which ever agency gave the original quote
They'd get funny about it because the customer has technically already paid, kind of - in other words, Flight Centre aren't about to make a sale. They made the sale when the gift cards were bought.

I've done it lots of times, don't tell them till the end. Also have used Westfield vouchers at flight centres in westfields.
Yes I did. Don't tell them that you will be paying with gift card.
Once you are happy with the price (after $1 PB guarantee) just tell them you will be paying with GC.
