Auspost won't check for delivered package

Hi ozbargainers,

So I have a complicated situation. I ordered from online a product that said it will be delivered by 14 jan. Dispatched on 1 jan. So today 25 jan I went to checked the post office because I can't gain access to my post box because the landlord is on holidays.

When I arrived at the post office the guy would not go to his storeroom and check if my packaged arrived. He said I need a reference number after I explained my whole situation. The online shop would not provide tracking number for international orders. Could he just kindly just go to check but he couldn't. I am going interstate for work tomorrow so really need my package urgently. Im very certain that its at the post office.

Does anyone know how I can collect this package?

  • Do Ocean 14 :)

  • Sorry seriously: ask to speak the post store manager and give your name and address that is used for the shipment and you provide your ID. I assume it's under your name if not it would require different process.

What does your landlord being on holidays have to do with you getting your mail?

    • I guess the PO box is under the landlord's name and he didn't have the key.

tradiesunited has a very complex living arrangement/lifestyle, from previous posts.

  • so you went to the post office and asked them to check for a package which you have no idea if it is even there? considering how hard it can be for most post offices to find stuff when they know its there, i can understand why they told you to get stuffed

    • I guess what he meant that he got a parcel to particular po box with his name on and he wants the post office to check.
