Beware of Counterfeit Prepaid Aus Post Satchels from Alibaba selling on eBay with working Tracking Numbers !!!!

FYI, please avoid buying Old Model Aus Post Express 500g, 3kg & 5kg Satchel selling online. Also Current Model Parcel 500g & 3kg Satchel as they are Counterfeit with working tracking numbers.

If the satchels you bought don't look like what you find at your local Post Office, please do not buy.
But you can claim Items as Not as described if you paid with Paypal for the past 6 months.
Differences between genuine & non genuine:

  • Genuine satchels have 2 small punch holes on the left, non genuine do not.
  • The tape for the sticky part has writing "Remove To Expose Adhesive" for genuine, the non genuine are just blank with no writing.

These are fake satchels made in China, cost about 5-10c each.

Please see below link for the sample of the Fake satchels:

To inspect the Counterfeit Satchels, please email me on eBay so I know for sure you are not the sellers:

I have been trying to warn buyers on eBay by creating listings with the above info, but keep getting taken down because the sellers call eBay to shut my listings.

These are self explanatory, I may not have time to answers all your questions on ozbargain.
Thanks

Theres been a thread going for a month over on Whirlpool

      https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2587548

Links in there to the fake satchels sold by the thousands on Alibaba if you need proof they're fake

      • Oh dodgy as. Thanks for the warning op

      • Thanks for backing me up

    • If you think Tracking #'s are entered by "inside baddies" maybe report it all to AusPost.

OTOH, similar parcel bags might be geniune, but from alternative suppliers.

so what happens when you attempt to use one these to post something?

    • Nothing they work fine and have never had a problem at the post office. I bought some a few months ago in bulk (without knowing).

      • As much as I am annoyed by AusPost, it would be ethically troubling to use counterfeit satchels.

But then, Alibaba is a massive hive of counterfeit scum and villainy, and governments are behind them %100 due to the massive IPO valuation.

        I am so conflicted.

Beware of them? Shouldn't the title be 'Beware of massive savings?' as the satchels get to their destinations every single time for a discount price.

Also, by not using these satchels you are depriving Aus Post of money as it is only through their large network they can be a viable post service. Also, more mail = more staff & jobs.

This is OZBARGAIN, and this deal on satchels is a deal none the less.

Thanks for the warning about items getting there in the post, I hate it when that happens!

I think one voter missed the irony.

  • If you don't know, the manufacturing of the real AusPost bags is in China also. Probably why they are being counterfeited so easy.
The manufacturing location changed in late 2012/early 2013.

    • How did u know this?

Just a warning that eBay seller boofheadbruce has been selling fake satchels. He has no items listed now. Not sure if he's laying low due to negative feedback or whether eBay has removed his items. His account is still active though. I bought 10x 3kg and have bought enough legitimate ones to know these are fake. Also he sent them to me in a 500g express satchel which was also fake. Unsurprisingly the satchel had no sender's address details and he won't answer my messages.

Yes I have also brought satchels off boofheadbruce, he is the worst communicator. Takes few days to reply, then I put a case against him on EBAY to get my money back on the satchels, he replied on the last day of his deadline to get me to return them on his fake satchels. he reckons that the messages go to junk mail, as if i believed him. there is also another seller that sells exactly the same satchels as him, called 1.2 buckle my shoe, but this one replies to messages and knows about boofheadbruce. however they deny theirs is fake, but happy for returns.

    • Thanks for the heads up. sassy_supplies might also be selling fakes. boofheafbruce's were very obviously counterfeit but the sassy_supplies satchels are harder to detect. The plastic they are made of is different to normal and the colour inside the satchel is much darker than the real ones I've bought from the post office which makes me think they are probably fake.

  • Thank OP for notice. Now I wonder whether I can still use my years old satchels bought from post shop. I bought in bulk years ago, worrying since I don't have the receipt anymore, legitimate but probably looking different now.

    • Yes, you can.

See the descriptions above for the fake ones
