    • Vietnamese New Year is the 28th.

      • Both follow the same lunar calendar.

      • Lol the neg.

          All the Viets downvoting me.

I think the correct term would be lunar new year.

  • Anyone know if you can just show it on your phone?

    • Can't use it until Friday so no way to check

    • Email says: 'To redeem, please print this gift and present in-store.'

Can only try though I suppose…

  • Good deals. There rolls are usually $5+

  • thanks op

  • +5

The rolls are tasty but IMO, they're way too small and with hardly any fillings to justify their usual price. You can get a big, satisfying banh mi for <$5 depending on location.

    • $5 subway? :)

    • Yeh its $9.50 in they city. Who the hell pays $9.50 for a banh mi?!

      • They can justify it by convenience, but I'd rather get fast food. Marrickville (Sydney) or Richmond (Melbourne) have great banh mi for $4.50 or less.

tried it at Brisbane airport, i will never try it again anywhere. over priced and rated.

Unfortunately it's the only Vietnamese anywhere near where I live. Cursed living in the cultural wasteland that is the Sunshine Coast :-(

what can we get in this rolld store exact at $5.00 or on more or less?

    • +1

One rice paper roll is $3.80

  • +7

I work at roll'd and agree it's way overpriced. The best thing about roll'd are their bun noodle salads. You guys should give those a try if you are thinking of buying from here. Also all the sides ($4.50) are very nice, minus the overpriced crab crackers

    • +1

Thanks! The bun noodles were yummy indeed 😊

Glad you enjoyed it!! Its always my first recommendation when people are unsure of what they want.

If you go to the Promotions link on the bottom of the website, they're having a contest between rice paper soldier fillings. Vote and you'll receive an offer of 2 Soldiers + Drink for $10 to use with the $5 coupon. Offer valid until 29 Jan, 2017.

Drinks to choose from are 300ml Schweppes, 600ml Cool Ridge still water, Rolld Iced Tea.

    • Nice find!

      • This might fall into the "Not valid with any other offer or promotion." condition so likely would not stack.

    • Did the 2 vouchers stack?

  • Can I just spend the $5 on a drink or does it have to be a meal?

    • +2

My sister and I used this today at Fountain Gate. We just got 2 iced teas which are $2.50 each and nothing else. Voucher doesn't say minimum spend on it. Also I just showed the voucher on my phone and it was accepted.

  • Roll'd at Brisbane Airport just refused to honor it saying they just don't know what to do with the voucher. Hope others have better luck..

    • The voucher email says not valid at Brisbane or Sydney airport.

  • worked fine at Roll'd Melbourne Central today.

    • Were you able to use it on the phone?

      • I printed it out just to be sure

      • +1

I work at Roll'd and I accepted it on someone's phone. Phone is fine

  • Honestly the most overrated and expensive Viet restaurant

Mine got rejected at Chadstone store. The lady told me there was no barcode to scan so she didn't know how to action it.

    • +3

so i get down-voted for sharing my honest experience?

  • Have successfully used this at 3 times Roll'd locations already (twice at Melbourne Central). They don't scan or anything, you can literally reprint the same voucher again and again.

That said…. I don't know why those Soldier rolls are as popular here as they are. They're like a watered-down version at twice the cost :/

    • +1

You gotta have the right flavors or else it isnt nice.
You should try the BBQ chicken, baramundi, any low carb roll or the crab rolls. Pair those with chili mayo/hoisin/nuoc mam and its amazing. Overpriced still but they have the best taste :)

      • Thanks for the feedback - I was leaning towards the low carb baramundi rolls so seems I was on the right track! Going to grab a couple for lunch Monday. :)

Worked fine for Brunswick. They weren't sure at first but there is a TV screen with the offer behind the counter. They were fine with just showing the phone. Thanks OP.

  • showed my phone on friday and got accepted at brisbane queens plaza store :)

  • +1

Why don't they show prices of items at the store?

    • If you go to zomato.com (formerly Urbanspoon, the review site), you may find menus posted for your local Rolld. I found the Parramatta pricing there.

      • Good that some of them are avaiable online but:

        A. I tried but couldn't find the menu (with prices) for the location I was after.

        B. A menu with prices at the premises isn't too much to ask for, is it?

        • It seems the stores are franchises which can set their own prices so I can't blame Rolld for not wanting to keep track of each store's menus.

          • Maybe call the store and see if they'll email a menu to you?
          • Maybe let the store owner/manager know that submitting a menu somewhere (a version of MenuLog or zomato) would be helpful?

They may be relying on foot traffic for sales and not anticipating that some people want to know prices before they visit.

        • @eyeballz2770:

I, for one, would be less inclined to order from a shop that doesn't show a price list at the premises. I'd wanna know how much I'll be up for before I go up to the counter to place my order, or maybe even before I decide whether I'm gonna order from it at all.

  • Castle Towers store didn't accept it off the phone.
