How to protect s7 edge's screen?

Hi all, first time using edge type phone. I usually use clear case with minimal design, and tempered glass screen protector for my non edge phone.

However, I find it's almost impossible to protect the s7 edge's screen due to its curvature. Many reviews say the tempered glass sold online are useless and make screen less sensitive & came off easily etc. I bought a punk case clear ghostek clear case which looks awesome, but the tempered glass protector won't fit inside the case. The tempered glass saved my nexus screen once, and I forever feel the need for tempered glass protector

What's in your experience is the best way to protect your s7 edge, especially the precious screen? I can imagine it would cost a lot more to replace s7 edge compared to standard flat screen.

  • I just use a flip cover, but I'm also pretty careful with my phones.

  • Screen protectors dont work at all and make the edge next to useless
your best bet is either an otterbox or tough case, sure they wil add bulk and make the phone look ugly but they have a raised lip that protects the screen
Home and contents insurance is the best protection, I have an excess of 100, seems to work okay, although read the PDS first to see what is covered
    you will want accidental coverage

I have a spigen case and I like it, basically the top, bottom and corners of the case has a lip but not the sides, so the sides work like normal (the edge) but if it was to fall screen down flat it would hit the spigen case lip on the top and bottom, or if it fell side wards it would hit the edge cover of the case if that makes any sense.

Only something like a rock or odd shaped thing would hit the screen but I'd imagine it would do that anyway.

Many reviews say the tempered glass sold online are useless and make screen less sensitive & came off easily etc.

Thats what I read as well, my screen covers would always come off. Apparently the screen is stronger then most covers so if it hits something it would either not do anything anyway cover or not, or it would hit hard enough that even with a cover it would've broken. Though I can't say that for sure, thats just what I read as well.

    • +1 for the spigen slim case, also i got one of these during a 90%off sale they usually have. I found because of the edge screen this was the easiest to apply and has stayed on the longest without lifting in the corners (over 6 months so far after 4 other protectors) which wasn't bad for the $1 cost +shipping.

I cannot believe Samsung is still selling this stupidity.

  • Get TPU based screen protectors, not PET plastic ones. The soft material is flexible enough to curve, although the texture is somewhat rubbery.

Alternatively, Zagg has a curved tempered glass screen protected specifically moulded for the S7 Edge.

    Expensive but probably worth it.

    • The problem is tpu don't absorb the impact on the screen. Tempered glass protector do, but many mobile repair shops even reluctant to sell them as it comes off too easily near the curvature, and that goes for the zagg one too I believe.
