So many Amazon watch deals. My friend must be taking a break today, otherwise he would have posted long ago.

Haha I'm just not a fan of paying extra for a watch with titanium as I have read that it scratches more easily than stainless steel and I have never had to take a SS watch off because it was too heavy.

Also the smaller, more popular 40mm Invicta 8926OB Pro Diver is cheaper US$85.98 + $7.62 Shipping
And it was on special not long ago for AU$66.00 shipped

I have a titanium citizen and you can definitely feel the difference in weight, but no I wouldn't say a SS watch is heavy by any means. I wouldn't say that it has scratched any more or less than any of my other watches either.

yep this. Titanium is a more expensive material and harder to work with. If you like that dull grey shade of metal then go for it, especially if its the same price as steel.

At these prices its cheap enough to buy and collect and not stress to much about it. I paid a lot more for the number of Citizen titanium watches I have.

I havent had any durability issues with titanium.

    • I've been lurking on these the hast few days ….. diver watches with screw down crown,

the Casio has a screw down crown, does this Invicta ?

      • It has the Seiko NH35A automatic movement, so yes it will be a screw down crown.
It also says it does in the bullet points.

  • I have a 40mm vintage seiko and it looks a little small on my wrist. 44mm should be a better size for me

    • 4mm is a big difference. By the way, the lug to lug distance is arguably more important. It all depends on the shape of your wrist. If it hangs over wrist it's too big and will be uncomfortable.

I think this model has a regular mineral crystal, instead of their hardened 'flame infusion' mineral crystal. Also, like steel, titanium comes in different grades. This won't be the top grade, but it'll probably be OK. I would definitely get out the scotchbrite pad and take the shine off the centre links on the bracelet. It just looks totally out of place on the dull, brushed Ti finish. I wouldn't go for one unless your wrist is at least 8 inches or it won't sit right.

    • i wouldnt put too much stock in their flame fusion thing either… at $99 you cant expect sapphire so your only recourse is to treat mineral glass with care. I have a Grand Diver and even though its only a $200 watch I dont treat it as harshly as my Omega given the real Swiss watch can take more rough treatment.

The watch aesthetics looks fine. I'm not a huge fan of the standard steel Pro Diver as it is a shameless Submariner copy but this one is unique enough to me that is passes.

    Wolverine's fingers are titanium

      Aren't they Adamantium :v

      • This is the pirated copy. A counterfeit wolverine.

  • My concern with Invicta is that there are no official resellers in either Australia or New Zealand per their website. The nearest official repair/service centre is in Hong Kong. So, if you have one of these and it fails and needs parts, getting it serviced over here is gonna be difficult or potentially really expensive.

be advised its a $143 watch. If it lasts out the 1yr warranty then any time after that is gravy.

I have a pile of Seiko autos and every one is solid. Why would this one be different given its the same movt.?

Agreed. I buy almost all of my watches from overseas. The price savings compared to Au is worth the risk. In fact, I don't think it would be worth sending any of my watches back for repairs

If a store in Australia sold these and there was a reasonable markup then I'd buy local.

But the local selection is poor unless you like $69 Lorus quartz watches.

    • I don't think I have ever actually considered buying a watch in Australia since I was teenager. Much cheaper OS as is the selection. OS vendors are usually very good if there is a fault or DOA.

  • Price is $118 USD now? Has it gone back up?
