Best place to buy non-rechargable AA batteries + lithium AA batteries?

Hi all,
I've got a cent-a-meter power monitor which needs 3 AA batteries, and it's also a pain to replace them. I'd like to buy some good quality non-rechargable AAs, with a view to eventually going to lithium AAs.

Any bargains? Any brands to watch out for? I see lots of people recommend against carbon-zinc - how do I know what to look for?

Alkalines will be labelled as such. Carbon zinc will have a ton of superlatives such as super duper, high power, etc. Some decent choices for alkalines are the Aldi, Ikea or Bunnings Varta ones. Lithiums are really really good, but also very costly. I have a lithium in an old film snappy camera that still fired up the camera when I turned it on recently.

  • I recently saw 12-packs of Philips Alkaline AA for $2 but there was insufficient stock for posting as a deal.

  • Aldi or Ikea Alkaline batteries have been my choice for non rechargeable.

  • Ikea? The normal price for 10 AA or AAA alkaline is like under $3

    Edit: $3.99

  • If youre keen, I would wire up a single 4.2v 26650 (5200mah) lithium rechargable externally. Ive done similar for night lights running off AAAs

    • Maybe for the next project.

  • Hey mate Ikea batteries are highly regarded. I will post a review below.

  • Thanks all, looks like I will be braving the maze that is Ikea.
