First Choice Now Asking to See Actual Email for $10 Discount

So i went down to my local FC to use the $10 voucher on a case of beer, and when I got to the checkout, i was informed that they needed to see the barcode within the actual email, not just as a screenshot or pdf.

I don't know if this was just an amateur mistake by not printing it out, but the girl said that they have been getting a lot of people trying to use "invalid coupons".

Looks like they are on to us! Ozbargain professionals at it again!

  • Sounds fair. If the offer was targeted and designed for one use only.

Really disappointing that many people here find these kinds of exploits acceptable.

I hardly see this as an exploit when it is a generic barcode that they send to all of their newsletter subscribers/users.

I was more saying in general as these kind of posts end up with people saying "so what? It's their own fault for not setting it up properly" etc.

I wasn't necessarily complaining about the fact that they asked, i was simply letting other people know so that they don't waste their time.

I was actually smiling when i left the shop because i could see the funny side of it being "ozbargained"

    • I agree. It is depressingly frequent.

    • The staff at my first choice encoutraged me to keep it and use it again..

  • So what happened?

I left with no alcohol and a full wallet, and a big grin on my face

        and sober :(

  • Oh no!
I hope it's just that one shop.

Otherwise Dan Murphy's is going to see a slight increase in sales as OzBargainers trickle back.
