I've messaged a couple of sellers with no reply. I'm happy with surface post for cost effectiveness. eBay has some direct from Japan with a Japanese interface but that's driving blind. Anyone done anything like like? Any ideas?

  • No ideas…. Other than keep hitting up ebay sellers until one replies. Even ones that don't ship to australia. One might do you a deal.

  • How much are you willing to pay for postage? The Toshiba microwave oven is approx. 20kg. I could probably get a family member in M'sia to purchase and post it out to you. Beware of customs duty though.

    • Wow that's so kind of you! Yeah I understand air freight would be very expensive but I am happy to have it sent by surface (boat) for cheaper freight. I used to live in Korea and had sent many 20kg boxes for about $45.

      • If you are really serious, I could ask. However, you also need to realise that there may be complications with warranties if that is ever required.

Also, there is the trust issue. How are payments going to be made? And of course there might be the talk about reimbursement for their hassles.

If you have thought this through and would like to explore further, pm me.

  • hey, i'm curious as to what you would be using it for.

    • I want an all in one oven for my small unit, especially the steam function. There are one or two models available locally but they not are very appealing and are much less specced.

      • my friend bought a wall oven with steam feature when she built her house 3 years ago. she has never used it. really curious as to what you'd be using it for.

        • Steam then grill or roast meat to finish, steam veg, breads.

  • Fly there on one of those cheap airlines, purchase oven and send back, enjoy some awesome street food, fly back

  • I'm thinking the same!

  • how do you end up doing this? Import it?
