WANTED - Free Apple app to forward calls over DATA from one phone to another

I'm looking for a solution and hope the OzB community can help.

I have 2 sims (work and personal) as well as two apple phones.

I would love to leave my PERSONAL mobile at home as I hardly use it (and pay $1 a month to keep it active) but would like any calls/sms I receive on it to be forwarded to my WORK mobile. (p.s. it is not jail broken).

I'm wondering if there is an APP which I can install on my personal phone; allowing me to leave the phone at home (connected to my wifi) and forward calls/sms over DATA so I can receive them on my work phone without having to pay for CALL FORWARDING?

any ideas?

  • theres a thing where you can insert your personal sim into a blueotth device and pair with your work iphone. that way your can receive calls and its smaller than carrying 2 phones. not exactly what you are after though

    • What's it called?

  • Such a feature would be great. If you are going overseas, you can use a local chip but still receive calls on your regular Oz number.

    • Free? no, but best solution is to get a Australian voip/skype number, forward your mobile calls to it.

  • +1

What you asking is NOT possible without using a phone carrier as call forwarding.
To implement what you after, software provider need to established a client-server communication between two phones and both phones need to be always connected to the internet.
Free app? You even found a paid app????
So I assume, you got two sims, within the same carrier or different carrier?

    • thanks for the response. I have two sims; for two different carriers.
I am happy for them both to be connected to the internet (the personal one would be connected to home wifi, and the work one to 3G/4G).

I'm sure there has to be one way to do this. (nnot neccesarily forwarding the CALL, but perhaps triggering an APP on Phone 1 to contact the App on PHONE 2, and have the microphone and speaker accessible (so we are pretty much opening a phone connection).

      • Unfortunately No, You need a online service to handle the voice connection between two phones. Its almost like someone try to re create a skype application and handling phone calls, not worth when call forwarding is so cheap.
Why don't you buy a phone with dual sim?

        • I have used dual sims in the past but work now provides me with an iphone.
