Work from Home Business Opportunties

Hey all,

I am being made redundant in a few months and now don't know what to do.
My background is in Logistics, Sales and Retail Management.

I was looking into a home business/work from home sort of work and looking on the net, all I seem to find are the get rich quick schemes that are just all scams.

Does anyone know where I could get more information about this area?

I am not looking at any specifics at the moment, just testing the water so to speak.

Does anyone on here; generate a passive income from home, run a home business, know anyone who does or can point me in the right direction?

I do thank you all for your time ^_^

Coincidentally, this was posted yesterday -

    • Yeah, saw this.
I was looking for more of a business opportunity.
I'm not really sure what that was…
filming reactions, sounds like googlebox but with a lot of privacy concerns

  • I run a few websites and make a decent living from it. Basically can make money of any niche, just got to stick to it.
What interests do you have? Finding something you enjoy will mean you'll obviously want to stick to it!

    • Are you retailing goods, or providing ad supported content, or something else?

      • im on the ad supported content route!

    • How long does it take to start earning though? Thought about starting a website or two in a specific niche but worried about the competition and whether it would really be worth my time. I'm desperate to earn respectable income online but finding it difficult.

      • One of my websites, appcheating started earning decent money within the first few months however there wasnt as much competition back when i started that one. That site also relies on being first with the 'newest releases'. Though i haven't really started making constant and a good $ figure until quite recently, About 2 years on.

I always feel if i can spend hours on ozbargain a day i can spend 10 minutes creating a few posts for my sites even if they arent making money just yet. As i said in my original comment, stick with it, don't give up if you dont see results in the first few months. I do find creating websites quite enjoyable.

Good luck if you go ahead with it, I would recommend to, What's to lose? ;)

I work from home 4-5 days a week, at the moment.

Yes, unfortunately advertised "Work from Home Business Opportunities" tend to all be scams of varying degrees; pyramid schemes, network marketing, etc.

You really can work from home, though; you just need to get the education and experience in a real career that doesn't require too much face-to-face. Like doing a programming course, working a year or two, then finding a company that allows you to develop software from home 3-5 days a week (like mine).

Owning a business and getting passive income is possible too, but again the easiest way is "the hard way": get real education and experience, find a need that you could fill, take all the risks, do it all yourself, and give it a shot.

In 15 years of IT work, I've yet to find a business idea good enough to make me quit my dayjob, though (my dayjob is pretty sweet).

I think he wants to work for more than the less than minimum wage earnings Uber provide.

You could read The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris.

Costs 15 bucks or whatever on Amazon, less secondhand or you can find it on the internet somewhere.
