Came across Huggies diapers on special at Big W southland but seems to be a nationwide offer as it's on their website as well.

  • I see the price as $28 not $25, Edit some are $25

Seems to be the new Huggies Ultimate's at $25. Whats the difference? I notice they changed the amount of nappies in each box… Original Walker Girls were 64 per box, whereas the Ultimates are only 52.

Is this just another Pringles incident?

    • I bought the ultimates on special for my daughter, to be honest they are a bit thicker and supposedly more absorbent than the regulars. If you don't mind the extra bulk they are ok. I think they did these to compete with the Thank You nappies because they are kinda similar to these ultimate's in some respects.

To be honest though, i'll be picking up the regular huggies at this sale!

      • As far as I can tell there's no difference between the old Walker Girl 14-18kg and the new ultimate ones, they look identical. 51 per box with both the old and new. Best nappy-pants imho (for the price) and always good to find them on sale.

        • I was talking about the normal nappy version, not nappy pants. I don't buy those.

        • @serpserpserp: ah ok. Funnily enough I had to get a box of regulars instead the other day as coles was totally sold out, the whole isle was empty bar two last boxes. Now hang on what's this putting on a nappy business again, the nappy pants are so much more convenient, although more expensive.

        • @decr:

I find the nappy pants hard to get on my kids, must be a preference thing.

        • @serpserpserp: way easier when toilet training imho as you can reuse the (hopefully dry) nappy and treat it as undies. But yeah, each to their own.

        • @decr:

Yeah I will be using them for toilet training. I kinda think that is what they are probably for!

      • Yeah I'm beginning to see less of the old ones too so I'm wondering if they're being phased out

Guys, make sure you try aldi nappies too…we found them to be best of all. Personal opinion of course.

Guys, make sure you try aldi nappies too…

      I find them a bit itchy…

Only use Aldi nappies during the day, it won't last over night like Huggies.

The trick is to dehydrate your child slightly, in the 2 hours before bedtime.

As an ozbargainer, I'm surprised that you didn't know about this baby hack already?

Tried them on my son but they were always full of crap. Huggies for damage control.

      • I don't even understand that comment.

        • They were crap compared to Huggies.

          @decr:

Nappy … Full of crap pun

  • Thanks. Got 4 boxes delivered. All set for the next few months.

  • What's wrong with smugglers ? Seem to be exactly the same as Huggies without the wet line and Disney print but are around half the price. Both brands made by same company in Australia.

    • That wetline is a godsend though, my daughter has only had 1 day of nappy rash in the past 8 months and gotta think the wetline letting us know early when she needs a change has had something to do with that…I'm hhappy to pay more to get the wetline.

      • Tire although there's a risk you change it to often if you go off the wetline. Our guy seems to pee non stop so if we go off the wetline we would need to replace every hour or so. We got used to tapping the front to see if it was in need of changing now its every 3-4hours.

No that I recommend it but the new huggies say 12hours of absorbency so in theory baby will only need 2 changes a day but using their wetline it will be more like 5-10 times that.

So in short the wetline can be helpful but for double the price I suggest most can live without it 😁

        • I think the 12 hours line is suppose to trigger the thought: "OK, these nappies should last my kid through the night!"

  • don't know what't the big deal with huggies, used the newborn ones than switch to the new WW little one, which i find softer than huggies and they last over night no problems. Much better value than huggies and even better with amex deal and coupon codes.

    • My kid got nappy rash on the cheap ones, seemed to leak a lot too. BUT it does look like Coles/Woolies have improved their game development wise on the private label ones so I might give them a go. But I am pretty happy with the Thank You brand nappies @ $27 a box. Given they are on par with Huggies and are a socially responsible brand.
