[StartHere] Carhire (Rental) Insurance. Steve - Can You Get Affiliate Status??

Steve

I have been looking for rental car insurance, and there are two sites that offer this for worldwide users. These are based in the UK

One of these insurance4carhire has an affiliate program

They seem to offer a fairly good rate, can you look into this and add this to moneybackco

On an upcoming trip, to the US this option can save me $200 or more on the cost of car rental insurance, and the policy is good for a year and covers multiple rentals worldwide including use in Australia as long as I am more than 150km from my home. So it may be a good site to include.

I wanted to obtain this policy fairly soon, so I can be your first affiliate sign up
Cheers

Peter

    G'day Pete,

Thanks for the suggestion, we always welcome them.

Until now we've not joined overseas affiliate networks because of exchange rate and GST complications, however we are now actively reviewing that situation as we see that these o/s offers are useful to us here in Oz. I know I'd love bookdepository or cafepress cashback!

We've created a dedicated blog topic over on MBC so we don't miss any out when we're reveiwing their suitability, maybe if it's not too much hassle you could add insurance4carhire to our list? I can't promise the speed of this work unfortunately due to other big changes on MBC.

    Thanks buddy, Steve.

  • ozpete, there maybe a credit card that offers cover for overseas rentals, most likely it will be limited, i only know of the amex charge card but its got a $900 annual fee and the Anz gold card but it only offers cover in australia not overseas. if anyone finds any other options apart from this I4CH Affiliate program lets us know.

    • Problem is that most of these are very limited and leave you exposed with gaps in the liability. Having investigated these more I am in horror on how exposed I have left myself in the past. (the joys of ignorance if nothing goes wrong). So I guess I have pushed things a little too many times to keep risking things.

With this insurance I have worldwide coverage for a year for around $220. vs the $420 plus I would have paid for with my upcoming trip, and with an Amex card I pay higher exchange rates vs my Wizard card, on the whole rental.

Plus this insurance covers things like roof, windscreens and undercarriage that Amex and other cards dont cover, they just cover the excess on the limited insurance that the rental car company offers. Eg in the USA - max third party liability cover of $100K vs $1000K

It would have been nice to get a rebate especially since they offer one…
