Samsung Galaxy S6 Recent Tabs Button Damaged. What to Do?

My recent tabs button may be damaged from water damage when using phone in the rain, it doesn't work completely and will sometimes act as if it was pressed randomly which is frustrating. The camera lens also previously shattered before this but I was able to replace myself without opening up the phone.

Am in Vietnam at the moment and am unsure whether to try and get fixed over here for cheap or to take to samsung when i get back and see if they will fix it?

Would prefer the latter but would samsung notice the water damage and will they care that the camera lens was replaced?

Thanks for any replies

Samsung will almost definitely notice the water damage as the water has entered the phone internally with no way of some of it to get out. Make sure your phone is out of warranty if you want to fix it in Vietnam, I was there last week and the phone repairs are cheap. If still in warranty fixing it over in Vietnam may void your warranty. The canera lens should be fine as long as it is legitimate and the phone was not opened in the process

    • Yeh still in warranty, camera lens looks identical but is third party from Amazon but same colour scheme. Pretty sure water damage as the phone would not charge after this day also but eventually started working so water most likely entered through charging port. I guess samsung will notice :/

Bring it to Samsung if you want the best options of repairing it

        • Yeh true, thanks for your help :)

  • Try to dry the phone - fill a seal-able container with dry rice, put phone in and seal the lid, leave for 2 days and it should sequester any moisture out of the phone.

Keep your phone in the container each night for a couple of weeks and it should get all the moisture out.

Worth a shot, rice is cheap.
