Courier Question for Weekend - What Are My Best Options

Hi everyone,
I need some suggestions provided I am new in this area completely. I am buying few DVDs from someone in Docklands 3008 which was listed as local pickup only. I contacted before and he/she said I can organize my own pickup on weekends or after hours. 20 DVDs. Now I am wondering which courier would be a good option considering they can pickup on weekends or after hours. Also the seller doesn't have a clue how much they might weigh, size and to pack and label so asked me to organize. He/she clearly doesn't want to work extra to visit the post office to send the parcel.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Also a big plus who is around the area and pick and parcel to me - a big favor!!

Thank you.

You can try Toll. FIll out a form at https://www.tollgroup.com/requestform and you will a quote in one or two business days.

Let me warn you in advance weekend couriers and after hour services are very expensive and you could be paying up to 100% more than regular off-peak services.

You will be better off paying somebody on say, Airtasker, to pick it up and ship it to you.

    • Toll is the single worst delivery company in existence

    Sendle.

Yeah you're better off getting an airtasker to pick it up then arranging a sendle to pick it up from them. I doubt you'd get a courier on the weekend besides toll and I can guarantee it'd be stupidly expensive.

+1 to Airtasker. As a pickup-only item you will be paying out the nose to have the courier pack & label the item…

"He/she clearly doesn't want to work extra to visit the post office to send the parcel."
That is why the auction would have resulted in a lower price than if they offered delivery, they sold the item for less $ to have less hassles with postage & packing.

Post them a postpaid satchel pre-addressed with your address so they can just drop it in a mailbox?

    • This makes the most sense… Just remember to grab the tracking for the return one before you post it.

Which suburb are you in? If you are out south east i might be able to think about a trip in and out to drop them off to you….

  • Thank you all. At the end I voided my ambitous plan to buy them - looked like the pickup and postage cost would be more than the price of the DVDs.
Thank you all for your awsum replies. I will definitely look for AirTasker next time.
