[VIC] Free Sweet Pancake Dessert at Pancake Parlour on Your Birthday (Valued up to $19.90)

132

Next Wednesday is my birthday and as I have subscribed to Pancake Parlour newsletter, I received a "Happy Birthday" email with a generic link to claim 1 of 8 dessert pancakes. Redemption is by a code sent to your email which you give to the cashier. Despite being a birthday offer, I dont believe they will check ID to verify birthday month. Please only use this deal on your birthday month.

Choices are:
* Lemon Berry pancakes
* Alice in Wonderland
* Short stack
* Jamaican Banana
* Bavarian Apple
* Salted Caramel Crunch
* Chocolate Jubilee
* Chocolate chip pancakes

Enjoy!

    Happy birthday for next Wed!

    • thanks mate!

    I did this once and they checked my ID when I redeemed it.

    • What did they check your ID for NonSense? Your date of birth? Your name? The ONLY form of ID that peeps routinely carry around with them that includes a DOB is a driver's license, and the fact is many peeps do not drive.

    Thanks for sharing OP - but it is already in the birthday freebie wiki, and personally I feel that as a community we shouldn't be encouraging abuse of deals that have been offered by local businesses in good faith.

    • ah it is too. My bad must have missed it. I guess this is a direct link to the promotion rather than a form, handy I suppose if it is your birthday this month and you forgot/didnt sign up in time.

    They usually check. You can get lucky sometimes when they don't check
    I guess it's similar to entering the casino or a club as a minor lol

    Also you pay upon leaving… So that's usually when they check. If they do check and it's not your birthday you'll have to pay for overpriced pancakes

      They check when you ask for the cheque.

        They give you a cheque for eating there? How much for? Seems like a good deal to me.

      • Before you order, just (subtly) check whether they are planning to check any details at the check-out, that way you won't get stuck paying the cheque.

  • They checked my ID last year.

  • Victoria only

  • It's not a bargain … More like a fraud if it's not your birthday

    • Okies baby shark, I hear ya' and I feel your 'moral angst', BUT … have you considered that:

      1. Perhaps if their food is SO GOOD that it makes you feel like all your birthdays have come at once, then maybe that should count as if it actually is your birthday. Maybe even a couple of times. Within a month. You cannot deny that they themselves would want their food to be so awesome/'festive' that it makes peeps feel like it actually IS their birthday. I'm happy to help them propagate that mentality (erm, for free).

      2. 'Birthday' is such a subjective term. For example, if you become a 'Born-Again-Christian' one morning, then visit the PP that afternoon, it seems entirely legitimate to me to classify that day as a birth day. It's right there in the name of the event.

      3. As sad as it is, some peeps do not actually know the precise date of their birth. This may be because they are orphans of non-documented parentage, or because they are mentally infirm, or it may be due to a myriad other reasons. It does not seem fair to me to suggest that these peeps should not be allowed to participate in this (most generous) PP 'birthday deal', simply because they are unable to (for whatever reason) nail down their exact birth date. In fact, the suggestion seems rather miserly at best, and vaguely discriminatory at worst. Not to mention uncharitable. Perhaps even a tad ill-considered. I could go on.

      I think you need to take a good long look at your opinions on this matter and the various considerations behind them baby shark, and reassess. Of course I may be completely wrong about this though. This is undeniably a very deep and complex ethical conundrum, and thus no single individual could possibly ever even approach a solution to it.

      • It's sad to see you have so much free time, have a chill, go eat a pancake.

  • When does your birthday actually have to be to receive this offer?

    • any month. Probably use the link in the post to claim your dessert in the actual month of your birthday in case they do check your ID. Great if your birthday is this month though!

      • When I choose the location to redeem it, it only pops up with locations from Victoria! :(

          Simply move here then, to avail yourself of this amazing deal.

        • sadly i think pancake parlour is a VIC franchise. Title has been adjusted accordingly.

  • Once you select your pancake, how long is the freebie valid?!?!
