Roof Tile Repairs

The joys of being a homeowner. I come home to find it raining in the garage courtesy of 4 slipped roof tiles.

Anyway, I put them back into place, but what I noticed was that a bunch of the tiles that have been cut for the roof valleys have some of their batten support thingies broken (lol technical). Basically I think this may have contributed to the slip as these tiles aren't attached all that well.

Short of me cutting new tiles to shape, has anyone had luck keeping loose tiles in place with something like liquid nails. They are cement tiles, if that makes any difference.

  • Short answer, yes.
One part of my roof is 100yro clay tiles. I ended up repairing a cracked tile with glue (can't remember what sort, possibly just PVA) and it has been fine for the last 5 years.
I think you could glue a loose tile to its neighbour without incident, assuming you aren't needing to connect a whole series.

  • drill small hole in tile

use stainless wire to secure tile to batton (or similar)

    bog up small hole
