There is also a pikachu edition that came out recently. If geek buying can get that in. I will be all over it!

The panda is a bit cheaper on Ali….. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/32756936883/32756936883.html and with 7% CR, a bit cheaper still.

    • Must have got my keywords wrong as that didn't come up in my price search :/

      • The odd thing with Ali is you can get differing search results …….. They quite often exclude results which contain the cheapest price and you manually have to hit "show all results" text button. At least that's the case in the web browser.

        • +2

I always open the 3 "cheapest" options from a search and then scroll down the pages to "From Other Sellers" and find the cheapest there. though sometimes I open the cheaper "From Other Sellers" items and then search "From Other Sellers" in those as well.

          @altomic:

Damn…… Professional bargain hunter……and with 200+ purchases from Ali I thought I knew all the tricks!

@ash2000: for buying on aliexpress then have a read of this

        • @altomic:

          Nice. Thanks.

  • KM8 P slightly cheaper @ aliexpress

    US$37.99 delivered

plus get 10% cash back via Alibonus

    • What's alibonus?

      • alibonus is a 10% cash reward system. https://alibonus.com

they have just introduced paypal as a means to withdraw your 10% cash. previously it was only through WMR, WMZ, Yandex.Money, QIWI, Phone, Russian banks

EDIT - just withdrew US$98 from alibonus using paypal

        • Oh ok….nice. Have you tried it? What's there minimum withdrawal?

        • just withdrew US$98 from alibonus using paypal

Woah….. What have you been buying? These are recent purchases I gather?

@ash2000: I'm as surprised as you are. I just buy random crap all the time. bought a few macbook pro batteries, magsafe adpaters, replacement laptop keyboards, laser printer parts, Teclast X98 pro tablet, camouflage suit, literally buckets of jewellery for my kids (perfect inexpensive gifts (that look expensive) for the all the parties they go to, t-shirts, kids stuffed toys, so much random stuff as well.

        • @altomic:

Lol, sounds like the random stuff I buy, with the possible exception of the camouflage suit…..I won't ask!

I've got 34 items sitting on my "goods awaiting confirmation" page at the moment…… I would say it's relatively cheap entertainment, but every so often a big ticket item slips in.

Anyway, raising the cashback to 10% will be a nice bonus, but I fear it's only likely to encourage me to buy more. :/

        • @altomic: would you mind posting a couple examples of the toys you buy for the parties? Most of the stuff I usually come across look el cheapo

Also if Alibonus is only 'up to 10%', how does it differentiate between the rates of cashback? Or is it generally the whole 10%

    • Only advantage Gkb has ontop of CR is really cheap SF Express. It was quoted at ~1 US for me.

Panda also slightly cheaper on eBay at $11.10AU shipped
    http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Itazura-Stealing-Coin-Cat-Automated…

Less cash rewards through eBay though, so it's probably about the same. I know what to expect on eBay if something is faulty or goes missing, what's the customer service like for geekbuying?

Identical - if it's faulty or goes missing you just raise a Paypal claim, and get a refund.

Hint: DON'T pay for tracking. Tracking that shows they despatched the item is what loses you the claim. If they want it tracked then that is something that makes it worse for you, not better.

Same concept applies on Ebay too, however Australia Post is almost uniquely tracked for parcels at least. Tracking protects the SENDER, not the buyer.

I've never lost a claim for non receipt of goods, whether the goods are tracked or not.

It's my understanding international sellers need to have full tracking with tracked signature on delivery to be covered by seller protection.

For domestic parcels, the seller only needs to have a tracking number and evidence the parcel was received by AusPost.

But you're right, paying extra for tracking is a waste of money.

Yeah, you are probably right. I haven't checked the Paypal policy lately.

Absolutely. And it's hilarious that people think that it speeds up delivery. It doesn't, it might even slow it down (is comparing tracked vs untracked of the same delivery method)

      • Thanks, good to know the process is the same via PayPal, thankyou! :)
