I wish this came later in the week. Can't get it now! I've been waiting for this for a while too.

  • Was using top of the line Brauns for the last 7-8 years until two weeks ago when I got Philips Diamond Clean from a deal in here and I can't be happier. Battery life is far more superior, after two weeks of constant use still as powerful as day one. Also it's a lot more quiet compared to Braun. For almost the same price get the Philips from Amazon UK.

    • I swapped from Braun to Philips Diamond clean too, that was 3 years ago. They've been great at cleaning and it looks beautiful. Unfortunately they've been nothing but unreliable, I've claimed warranty on it on it twice now and my first one was bought overseas so was a right off. I'll be going back to Braun as soon as this one eventually dies.

      • Oh ok! Well I hope that doesn't happen with my unit :)

        • Mine is still running strong after 4 years .battery doesn't last as long and the cup charger stopped working last month. But still incredibly impressed with it.

      two weeks of constant use

      da fack?

      • Yea forgot to turn it off :p

        • So you didn't brush your teeth for two weeks or just didn't realize that you left it on every time you brushed your teeth for two weeks?

        • @T Man: the latter mate, as I mentioned before it's so quiet so could happen to anyone :)

        • The thing was oscillating for 2 weeks straight? That's some amazing battery life. I thought it turned off by itself after 2 mins.

        • @lostn: the sarcasm gone too far I think it's time to stop it once and for all haha

For those interested in how this price compares to local prices.

This product is currently $249.99 at the Shaver Shop.
    http://shavershop.com.au/oral-b/genius-electric-toothbrush-0…

    • I got it at shaver shop on special after xmas for $150 from memory. (profanity) great toothbrush. Better than my old oral B by far. Now I use my old one once in a while and it feels like it does nothing.

  • Hmmm, but wont it be the UK 2 point plug and so you will have to have an adapter for wherever you go?

I'll probably go get one anyway but is a bit annoying.

    Video of the unboxing

    EDIT: Just bought it-
    Item Subtotal: £83.33
    Postage & Packing: £16.02
    Order Total: £99.35

Converts to about AU$161.62 + Transaction fees.

  • My current Oral B brush - the one with the wireless LCD monitor is about 10 years old. Still works fine, just noticeably reduced power if the charger isn't plugged in and I use it in the morning and use it again at night. If the charger's in 24/7 it's fine. Do you guys think it's worth upgrading? haha

Ozbargain slogan, buy first think later :)

    • No. Its often not the brush, its the technique, how long you spend brushing and how often. If you havn't had any decay then you're doing a good job and upgrading would provide no benefit. If you hate you're brush because its old and slow and you're not using it, and had 3 fillings in past few years then maybe getting a new brush might help.

    • Clearly you need a faster microprocessor or your teeth will not be clean!

    • The plug goes straight into the handle and not a cradle?

To answer your question, if the battery is degraded to the point where you need to be plugged in to get full effectiveness, I'd say it's time. 10 years, it's served its purpose. If you divide the cost of buying it by 10 for the yearly cost, it would have been next to nothing.
