Mr Beams Battery Security Lights

Has anyone used the Mr Beams battery powered security lights? I need to install some new lights on the side passage of the house and the Mr Beams get good reviews on Amazon and Whingepool, sorry Whirlpool?

I believe they used to have an Aussie distributor but no longer, so I'll have to get them from Amazon as the shipping cost from Mr Beams themselves is downright criminal.

I prefer battery powered security lights because they will be very low usage and I don't want to pay a sparky to run new cabling. The Amazon reviews says the batteries (4 D cells) list anywhere from 6-12 months.

Thanks.

  • I bought a solar sensor light from Aldi for about $20. Been running for over 12months. It isn't super bright, but enough to see where the bins are. No idea about the ones you mentioned, but I'd rather have the solar rechargeable ones so I don't need to worry about replacing batteries.

    • I find solar powered aren't very bright.

      • Need to get ones with a better light then. Considering they are sensor lights, they don't run full time. Not running full time but running on D cell batteries for 6-12 months should mean very low power usage, and making a solar equivalent would be easy.
