Solar Panels + New Business Bank Account

Hello guys,

I'm looking at transferring all my banking away from the Commonwealth bank after some horrific issues with them.

Location: Central Coast

What I'm looking for some advice on:

BANKING
  • Best bank for a business account: - Roughly 10 - 15k a month going into the account

  • Personal banking account

SOLAR
  • Recommended solar panel systems: heavy users looking to spend 15 to 20k depending on the best bang for buck.

  • A pool, 3 people, 5 TVs, 3 Desktops, laptops, Duct AC, PS4 etc

Thanks in advance for any advice / recommendations my ozbargain brothers and sisters.

Solar Panels + New Business Bank Account

First thing that springs to mind to combine these two is Suncorp

    First answer not always correct.

    • Hi mate, do you mind elaborating why so? Thank you very much for your time <3.

      • He was making a joke by recommending the bank that had "sun" in its name.
If you want proper answers to the solar panels part of the question, you really need to answer my question below asking how much power you use from your bill.
        Otherwise it is all guesswork.

Looks like you need two threads!

Solar: use less power first, then get a system that covers north and west facing roof sections. Put some on the west roof so you generate power later into the evening when you are more likely to use it. We have 4kw, 2kw north and 2kw west. Pool, five people, too many tvs etc - BUT we also have energy efficient appliances and lighting (all led) and don't often use our AC. Ceiling fans do run a lot though. Last electricity bill was under $300, pre solar probably would have been about $500.

Don't get batteries, they aren't financially worth it yet.

    • Which make panels & converter do you have?

      • Leg panels, Fronius inverter. I hope that I have a premium product based on the price.

    • Yep we have energy saving appliances, turn unused goods off at the power point when not being used for long periods, keep lights turned off but we still use a truck load of power. Do you know of a company on the central coast that does installations and systems? and what are some high quality panels money isn't an issue if I'm buying high quality.

Thanks for taking your time to help me out mate greatly appreciated.

      • NSW Central Coast? You could try http://www.solaronline.com.au/. Newcastle based, but will travel. I had a system installed by them under the 60c feed in tariff a few years ago. For my current install they were not available at the time.

Nice saving putting both requests in one post so you didn't have to pay for two.
I think I remember you from the Trading Post ads:
Baby cot, pram, change table, car seat $300 lot. Also Yamaha outboard 25hp $700

    • Nah mate never posted on Ozbargains before from memory. Long time lurker first time poster really. :) I just thought rolling them into 1 thread would reduce thread spam.

  • How much power do you use? It will say on the back of your bill. $15 to $20k is too much for solar panels.
Only tip for business banking is to not use the same one as your personal banking.

  • I have a Bankwest Business Account and have no complaints so far. Basic account with no fees, Xero integration for daily reconciliation.

    • I see. What would people recommend for personal banking? I hear ING does 2% cash back on credit cards? THanks for the help mate.
