Colour Laser Printer Lanier SPC240DN $95 Vs HP LaserJet Pro Wireless CP1025nw $159?

Hi, I am a Uni student trying to find out which is best value for money?

I do not need fax.

The Lanier comes with enough toner for 1000 pages @ 5% coverage. The HP comes with enough for 500 pages @ 5% coverage

HP = 0.318 cents per CMYK page
Lanier = 0.095 cents per CMYK page

Based on that and that alone I'd go the lanier if I had to have a colour laser at home. If you plan on doing much more than 1000 sheets you might want to look at a higher end printer and replacement consumable costs.

The HP is wireless = $$$.

At that price - you could buy a spare Lanier.
Ebay for toners - check first to see if there is a generic for it. I'd be surprised if there isn't.

      SPC240DN is wireless too.

There are no after market toners for the SPC240DN that I could find and it is cheaper to buy a new printer than to replace even one cartridge. There is a refill kit if you can be bothered.

      • Oops, this is embarrassing. I had confused the SPC240DN with its replacement model SPC250DN. Both were selling at the same price, about $100. The 250 has wireless but the 240 hasn't.

I wouldn't consider a $95 SPC240DN at all given it has been superceded.

  • Hi jiaqi518, I am also looking for a colour laser, may I ask where can I buy Lanier SPC240DN for $95?
