Bought laptop during CATCH20 ebay deal, now the seller wants to cancel order and refund?

Hey everyone, just looking for a bit of advice.

I bought a laptop from PC.Byte last week. This week they sent me a message saying they need to wait to restock from their supplier before they can send it to me, so I asked them how long I'd have to wait. They couldn't give me an ETA, and after I asked them to contact their supplier to get a better idea of the ETA they said they wanted to cancel the order and refund me. Now the CATCH20 deals are already over so I'm in a bit of a pinch.. I just want the laptop asap.

Are ebay sellers allowed to say they have stock but then actually not have stock available to send out? What can I do to help myself out of this crappy situation?

    up to you if you wait or get refund

    Threaten negative feedback. Offer positive feedback if they leave the order as is until stock is available.

    No, they arent allowed to sell stock they don't have or cant supply.

    It happens to me all the time:

    Refunded to
    $961.40 Voucher
    $3,845.60 VISA x-XXXX
    You'll see "PAYPAL *ACADEMICITM" on your card statement.

    No. And pc.byte does this as normal operating procedure and they have been doing it for a long time. For some reason deals are still allowed to be posted here by these fraudsters.

    Edit: Nevermind, I don't think bait advertising would be present in this case, but undersupply is a serious issue and you could threaten negative feedback like stated above.

    The problem is that if they cancel the transaction you wont even have the ability to leave feedback.

    I bought something from them in the CATCH20 deal. They sent a different item, told me to return it and then they'd send the proper item (which is annoying in itself).

    Once they received it they then said out of stock, refund.

    Such a waste of time and I lost the CATCH20 deal.
