Laptop for Home Use (Max $500 Budget)

hi there

Looking for a laptop for home use - no gaming. Max budget of $500.

Seems like this was a great deal from the likes https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/291133

We have Thinkpad edge E520 which we probably bought 4-5yrs ago for $5XX. Has been great - still going strong however kids have broken the keys on the keypad and the power socket in laptop is now loose. Otherwise going great.

Any other laptop you can recommend.

    To keep the budget alive if you are happy with your old laptop you're probably best to just buy a keyboard and mouse to keep it going and wait til the end of the financial year sales round starts.

    Strictly speaking ANY deal you see here for a laptop under $500 will outpace your old laptop.

    But you will have to accept windows 10 and depending on your printer/other peripherals this update might not work seamlessly for you.

    Do you need a windows computer? You may find better with a Chromebook if you are only using it for internet access and the like.

      yes i do need windows to do some office work at times. Just easy to use.
