This is my final year and it might be a waste of money but I wanted to upgrade my bag from a cheap fabric mess to a well padded one so i don't have to buy seperate sleeves for my devices.
I study digital media so I don't carry much. An Ipad Air 2, Microsoft Wedge Keyboard, water bottle, food, Couple USB and battery devices as well as pens.
I've been searching all over the place and couldn't find the right size bag except one. Herschel pop quiz Mid volume size is basically the ideal backpack for me in terms of size and functionality but Paying $120 is too pricey for me.
Is there a cheaper alternative?

Herschel pop quiz and little america are the campus favs atm so you'll definitely fit in. Just buy it off amazon.
Personally I've had great mileage out of my dakine network backpack, can really recommend the build quality and utility but mine would be way too big for you (I now use it for my carry on luggage). Something like the switch would work but still too big probably.
Just make sure you scope out the sub-20L bags from quality brands. Ebags is a good resource - even if you dont buy from them it's a pretty well organised site with a fair bit to choose from.
Let me tell you though, if you find something you actually like in the realm of bags though just buy it, even if its a bit pricey. Because so often you end up buying something that sorta works and it annoys you - remember you're carrying that thing every day.
