Best Prepaid Data Only Deal

Hi guys

I've just purchased a moto g4 plus (thanks to the ozbargain deal through officeworks for $298) and wish to make use of the dual sim feature.

Currently I have a work supplied sim which has voice and sms only, so I wish to purchase a 2nd sim to use for mobile data.

I use to be with vodafone years ago they had a deal that had a long expiry date of 365 days. I will only use low amounts of data per month so 1-2GB would be plenty for me AFAIK.

I see woolworths do 10 GB for $69.90 with a 180 day expiry,so approx just under $12 p/m if it lasted me 6 months..

Is there a better deal out there? (data only no voice calls, sms reqd)

Cheers!

Vodafone prepaid broadband: $50, 180 days, 8G+8G data.

    • Thanks scrimshaw :)

Seems as though i would only get 8GB of bonus data for the initial recharge (expires 1/7/17 with u to 3 recharges)

Still 8GB for 180 days for $50 works out cheaper then the woolies deal!!

I'm in the same boat as you. Just got the Moto G4 Plus 32Gb/3Gb with work sim and personal sim.
I just signed up to Kogan mobile for my personal sim (was on Telstra), $49.90/30 days (cheaper if prepay for 90 or 365 days) for unlimited calls/text and 12Gb data. I believe it uses Vodafone network. Not the fastest data speeds, but fine for what I need.
My work sim has data/calls/text if I fall into a Vodafone blackspot at any stage.

Edit: there is cheaper options for lower data if 12Gb is too much. I will prob go down to the 3Gb or 8Gb one after this month.

OVO do $15Gb for $99.95 with 365 day expiry. Optus network.

  • If you only want it for data look at all the prepaid startup deals and just stack up on them.
Optus $30 are always $10 and come with 3gig or activate it as the $2 days which gives you 500mb per day for $2. current Kogan $1 deal with 12 gig.
As you don't need the number you'll be just activating new SIms when you run out of data. Pretty easy especially if you don't need to port a number.

  • Data here (metropolitan area network - Vodafone - strongest signal) appears over time moving in to the 50c - 25 cents region. Possibly a long range observation since Oz VHA X-Series days.

On current PAYG+ reduced starter pack, 40.00-come $13 via eBay sales =26 gb. And as above, few cents per GB wholesale channel.
