How to Remove Mud from a Garden Pond with Fish?

We have this pond in the garden where we keep goldfish, the water is extremely muddy I try to change the water but it is difficult because there are many baby fish inside (many of them black so they camouflage with the mud).

Any idea how to remove the dirt in a way that doesn't harm the fish?

(my search on google came up with lots of solutions that can't be used cause of the baby fish…)

Shovel the base into a tub full of water from the pond. If there is fish caught up, move them back into the pond. Repeat till mud off base is gone, then filter the water.

How big is the pond ? Removing the fish is the only way to clean a pond.

Next time, after you have cleaned out the pond, start by placing a fishing net on the bottom of the pond,
then add your rocks, plants, pumps, etc and finally your fish.
Then the next time you clean the pond, remove all the items, then pull up the net which will have your fish.
Place the whole net and fish in a large container of water until the pond is cleaned, then repeat installing the net (and fish) and other items. The more regular the cleaning the easier it is.

    • about 2m by 1m. thx will try

      • Actually, if you pump the water out of the pond into the water container, the fish will still be in the same "environment" when transferred to the water container while you then proceed to clean out the pond and (presumably)replace the water with fresh.

You'll have the perfect pond now.
