Looking to Rent (Buy?) Foldable Wheelchair for Grandmother for Travel

Hi all,

My grandmother has become very unwell lately, but she'd still like to continue a holiday she had planned overseas for 5 days.

We need to get her a wheelchair at the moment as she's unable to walk longer than 5 minutes due to heart problems. She's ok at home, doesn't walk around too much so doesn't want to buy something, but for the trip she wants to see a few places and we think a wheelchair would be best.

We were wondering if anyone could advise the cheapest/best way to rent a foldable/packable away wheelchair for those 5 days overseas (or if it would just be cheaper to buy something for long-term)?

Thanks.

I have 3 wheelchairs sitting at home so you can borrow them if you are in Melbourne.

You need to book for wheelchair service for the flight too.

You may want to get a cushion too as the wheelchair can be quite uncomfortable if you sit in it for hours.

Where is she going? Has she got the OK from the doctor to fly?

    I rented a wheelchair from http://hospitalathome.com.au/hire/ for 2 weeks.

Cost me $20/week; great service and easy to extend the hire period if needed.
