Wednesday March 1, 2017 2:59 AM AEDT One hour out :)
Makes sense from the time offset probably based in China or what ever country is hosting it is +8

    • they're in Singapore :)

      • Thanks. Not sure what they are off hand I could look it up in my Database of Timezones including DST adjustments world wide. I've havent added Singapore to my shortlist from 400ish time/regions. :)

Working on next few days x fingers autoextract the dates etc from the gleam source. Atm I'm manually copy it in and calculates it.

      • Was going to ask you how you work out the ending times for the international giveaways? Also how you input the times into the date picker provided? Guessing you type the date/times. I couldn't see easily how to add in the ending time.

I've got around to organizing my giveaways in a database to manage the pesky daily routine of bonus entries around the globe and throwing out the extensive orgainised chaos of bookmarks.

        • Not sure what gnv9 does, but I use https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html and input the closing date/time stated on the comp or from the email (gleam comps) confirming my entry.
As for inputting the times into the date picker. I use the date picker then type the time in.

        • I don't get them right all the time. If not otherwise stated in T&Cs in which case I convert using Google, I just venture a guess based on the timezone of the Promoter but of course that's not always possible/accurate.

Yes, just manually type the time in the box after selecting the closing date.

        • @gnv9: I tend to let you know about those where your guess is off ;)

        • @gnv9:
          http://scratch.andrewl.in/timezone-picker/example_site/gmaps…

Is one good site for timezone/regions. Appears to be based on the same database I'm using. Thou for gleam giveaways the time/offset is in the source code in Unix date/time format. i.e. Seconds from 1/1/1970. Just need a spreadsheet or some code to convert. :)

        • @GoldernFortune: not an issue with converting, rather I don't enter most comps so don't have that confirmation email stating the closing time/date.

        • @GoldernFortune: ESET just blocked that website when i tried loading it :|

        • @gnv9: I'm not using the confirmation email. The information provided back is what location and time ends there. So would need to know the time difference. F that. I'm just at the moment copying in the end time and and auto calculate according to my system time settings.

Aiming to auto generate the text when I get around to posting here in the required protocols. eg Prize from XZY etc etc. Lots to do…

        • @Phalaxis: ? Well that site just using google maps and guessing tied in with the database of world time regions. Hmm wonder why would be blocked. Well there are plenty of other sites thou not as nice looking.

        • @GoldernFortune: Not sure why. Just states "The web page is on the list of websites with potentially dangerous content."

        • @Phalaxis: Hmmm probably a false positive. I think the project they did for that site was well documented. Might have to investigate that if an issue.

I was looking for something to help for non gleam comps for to select the correct time region and add to a short list. I can look in up in my db just 400 regions in there. Sometimes they city labelled for it isn't obvious. Something like that would make a great timezone/region picker. :)

      • Guess the question is if posting a time, what time zone to use AEDT or AEST? As I share with some international contacts I post global giveaways in UTC. I got to be careful if going to post here I don't forget. lmao
