Those websites are genuine, however they aren't affiliated directly with Blackberry and are very much overpriced so there is no reason to purchase from there.

Which model were you looking for? I'll have a look around for you. You'll find a better deal on eBay or one of the Hong Kong websites (T-Dimension, eGlobal Digital Cameras etc.). I got my Priv from T-Dimension and a DTEK50 for family from eBay. Optus also sell the Priv, otherwise there is becextech or unique mobiles which sometimes have decent prices.

Thanks, I am looking for priv or dtek60

      • If you are looking for a phone with PKB wait for the Mercury which will be launched on February 25th at 1pm EST.

        DTEK60

For DTEK60 $636 shipped from eGlobal with code WELCOME (Grey import, 12 month AU warranty but primarily an overseas company) is the best price.

Other options $663 shipped from T-Dimension eBay, same deal as eGlobal grey import/overseas company but some may prefer going through eBay and T-Dimension (arguably) have a slightly better reputation, not sure if they do local warranty though (might have to send direct to HK).

Otherwise Expansys $699 Shipped (Grey Import, 12 month AU warranty), are a bit of a better well known company and have a store rep on OzBargain and more Aus presence.

I think they are your 3 best options. eGlobal is best price $636, but some might pay extra $63 and get it from Expansys maybe slightly better reputation if anything goes wrong (eGlobal are hit and miss with warranty from past comments).

There's also $688 Shipped from Unique Mobiles (Grey Import, 12 month AU warranty). Buymobile $709 shipped (Grey import, 12 month AU warranty). Bexectech $673.95 shipped (Grey Import, 12 month au warranty)

        Priv

To be honest I'd avoid the Priv, it's fairly old now, has an older processor which can lag/heat up and if you want a physical keyboard the BlackBerry Mercury is coming out soon which should be decent value and comes with Android 7. The Priv was overpriced and you'd be better paying a little extra for a Mercury and getting a new model which should run really well. Best price for Priv seems $461 Shipped at eGlobal with code CLEARANCE (5% off).

So basically grab the DTEK60 now if you are happy for full touch or wait for the Mercury if you want physical keyboard, the DTEK60 has good specs and is a premium phone, so no issue getting this over the Mercury, it probably has higher specs than the Mercury overall (DTEK60 has 4GB ram, Mercury rumoured to have 3GB for example).

  • How about expansys? They are Oz based as well right?

Expansys are decent as well, they supply alot of review units for Blackberry I've noticed. Like the others (eGlobal, Unique Mobiles, Becextech etc.) they have Australian presence but sell grey imports from HK. You'll still get 12 month Australian warranty through.

  • Absolutely NOT blackberrystore.com.au They are not affiliated with Blackberry/RIM and are NOT RECOMMENDED.
COMPLAINT LODGED WITH NSW FAIR TRADING. LEGAL ACTION PENDING.

My experience with blackberrystore.com.au has been absolutely infuriating.
I sent a phone for a very simple repair and it has dissapeared into a black hole.
Marilyn has been completely dismissive, condescending and unresponsive. Phone goes unanswered, emails not responded to, texts ignored, deadlines misssed time and again. Still trying to get my phone returned after more than 10 weeks of constant followup.
