  Can you include a stopover in LAX/SFO on the way back? Don't have much of an interest in visiting Phoenix, but happy to do a one-nighter for the purpose of a cheap fare to LA/San Fran.

  2 hours drive South of Phoenix is Tucson. There is a huge air and space museum ( Pima ) and you can check out the only remaining Titan missile at the titan missile museum and there's the bio-sphere 2 at UA. 2 hours drive South again and you'll be in Mexico. If you love westerns check out Tombstone.

  Or head North for Sedona, The Grand Canyon - Southern side or Western side on your way to Vegas, baby !
