Vaya Plan Cycle Updates (data and price revision)

Does anyone remember when Vaya updated all their plans?

At the moment I need more than 9 gigs but they don't offer any plans in that range. Instead of going with another provider, I'm hoping their next cycle of plans will arrive and hopefully have more than 12 gigs.

Personally, I'm not sure. But let this scenario be a warning about these kinds of services. Vaya and other non brick and mortar telcos offer only prepaid services, which means that they can chop and change them at any time, and you have no right to stop them. With prepaid, your right to keeping the service as is lasts only as long as your current expiry date (end of the month). I would recommend looking at all available options and perhaps leaning towards a postpaid variant at a B&M telco if it is in a similar price range. That way you'll never run into this issue again. But, of course, if there's a large price gap then you may as well keep on as you are.

    • Thanks for the heads up.

B&M generally lock you into 12 month. But after 6 months, they could do the same and change their plans and offer more. That's why I posted this thread so I could make a decision to go with a B&M or wait it out and hope for plans to change.

For Vaya, I doubt they will ever cut their data plans because of the competitive nature in the market (especially when the market is so data hungry).

      • Actually now that you mention it, I bought the Optus christmas plan that was $40/month for 12 months, which gave me 10 gigs with free spotify (sim only plan), the sale expired in February.

Fortunately for me they never ported my number. Now they are offering the same plan but with 12 gigs!
