Belong ADSL2+ Landline Porting

Does anyone have any previous experience with successfully porting their landline number over to Belong? I am currently with Optus for home phone and broadband but looking at moving over to Belong. I asked the question to the Belong Facebook support staff, however their response was they are unsure until they actually put the port request in. Really prefer not getting a new landline as we use this number quite frequently for incoming calls.

  • I just put in the application today, but i am with Telstra. They say it would take 2-7 working days so we will find out soon if it worked or not.

  • If Ports are available in your exchange then it can most certainly be done
Be warned though, ports in some areas are not available, Belong would use Telstra ADSL2+ ports, but be aware you may be only put on ADSL1 if thats all that belong / telstra can find for you in the exchange

7-14 days is about the average porting time for ADSL2+ (based on experience)

  • I would stay well clear of belong. I haven't even been able to use my internet in my new house and I am already regretting changing to belong.

    Put simply; nil customer service!!
Had recently got an NBN connection for one house. Very easy, they answered phone straight away (after pressing 1 for new connection). Went to get a second connection for another house (this time ADSL). Once again, answered phone straight away (after pressing 1 for new connection). Had an issue where they asked that I contact customer service. 8 times I rang customer service (pressing 2 for customer service) and each time I would listen to their on-hold music for around 20 minutes until the call disconnected. Just like that! Got quite frustrated so I made a complaint on their complaints email address. No reply, so I sent another complaint, whilst periodically trying their customer service number. After sending three complaints I rang the telco ombudsman and raised a claim with them. Then I had a light bulb moment. I thought to myself "what if I press 1 for new connection instead of 2 for customer service?". So I tried it and sure enough the phone answered straight away. I told them my problem and they said they couldn't help but they would transfer me to their complaints department. Should have guessed that my complaint would end up in a call center in India with someone reading from a list of set responses.
So now I have been told that I need to wait up to five business days to be contacted by someone.
Steer clear of this ISP, steer well clear!!!
