    Good deal if genuine.

Lots of eBay deals with similar Price , also claimed to be authentic and delivered from OZ. WHY should we go for this one?

Also I have reach a point to believe the only place you can buy a genuine one is from Samsung website.

Beware - there are a LOT of ebay sellers that claim to sell genuine Samsung batteries.

I had purchased one for my Note 4 to have as a spare - Aussie seller, with guarantees of being genuine. Everything seemed legit, but few months later that thing was draining a lot quicker than my genuine one was.

        • Yep I purchased one from a local seller who claimed it was genuine. Clearly wasn't when I got it. Dodgy label - didn't dare put it in my phone. I raised a dispute and gave the seller negative feedback and the prick tried to threaten me saying that he knew where I lived. Reported to ebay and stupid ebay did nothing - his account is still active.

  • Cheers Op, got one for a SIII … was just about to go huntin …

  • bought 1 , thanks OP

I don't like buying phone batteries unless the date of manufacture is stated. Lithium batteries as used in smartphones degrade over time, regardless of use - when used they degrade faster but there is almost no point buying a "genuine" battery that has been sitting on a shelf for a year.

I don't know why you're being negged, this is absolutely true.

Having bought aus ones before for my s3, and having pitiful life, I don't like the chances of this being genuine. Worse, unlike the aus supplier, you probably can't return this?

That said my mum's Samsung battery just conked so it's interesting to note if this is legit, I could switch over to her phone. She bumped up to s6 from memory as she didn't want to deal with trying to recover the old s5 (or maybe s4)

    Do they explode?

Wow. It was a joke. Getting negged by the Android fanbois.

Lol… Tell me about it. Morons.

      • Wow. It was a joke. Getting negged by the Android fanbois.

…but…jokes are supposed to be funny or witty.

FWIW I didn't neg your original comment, just the next one whining like a little schoolgirl about a few negs.

Humour is subjective. I thought it was funny. It definitely wasn't witty. I didn't whine. I was just surprised.

          @sween64:

Humour is subjective. I thought it was funny.

And clearly many didn't agree. Maybe if you didn't arrogantly label anyone who disagreed with you as a fanboi you might get a better response

          I didn't whine.

Whining is subjective. Sounded like whining to me.

        Apple

        ^That's a joke

what you said was just retarded.

    • These are most likely not genuine, similar to all of the Australian sellers who sell "genuine" Samsung MicroUSB cables or earphones. So they should have a higher chance of exploding than the genuine S5 batteries :).

I went through several fakes (all marked genuine on eBay), before just shelling out for a genuine one for my s5.

Genuine one gives maybe 50% more power than the fakes.

FWIW, I believe any genuine batteries come with the white portable charging case (pic here: http://www.samsung.com/au/mobile-accessories/extra-battery-k…).

    • Agree, these are original fakes, no doubt

    • Yep. Ebay is flooded with fakes listed as genuine - even from au sellers. If you look at the feedback they all have very positive feedback because most people don't know what theyre buying. the few that give negative feedback saying theyre fake either get ignored or denied.

  • I also noticed it is a "Direct Shipping Offer":
"The items will be shipped directly from Overseas Supplier by Air Parcel. It take 1-4 weeks (plus Handling Time) to arrive Other areas in Australia."

Also the Note 4 battery is available including shipping for $1 less.

  • This battery will support NFC function? (For Note Edge)

    • Haven't checked but can pretty much guarantee an S5 battery won't support NFC on a Note Edge

  • JB hifi clearance $15, in store only. May vary from each store.

    • Which store did you see the clearance in?

      • It was in Chatswood Chase a while ago originally 59.95. There were 3 and I bought 2.

        • i checked sydney strand arcade store - they don't sell batteries at all

        • @dealsniper:
That's why I said it varies from each store.

  • I bought a Galaxy S3 battery from an ebay supplier, and it was terrible. Ended up throwing it in the rubbish after a few months.

  • Anyone care to comment on the battery, whether it is genuine or not
