USB 3.0 or Esata HDD Enclosure for 3.5" Drive

Can anyone recommend a decent HDD enclosure with Esata or USB 3.0 for under 50 bucks?

CPL in Melbourne has an Astone one with Esata for $29.

Is that the Astone ISO GEAR 481E you're talking about?

Apparently that has a bunch of problems with it's eSATA connection.

I'd probably look at the Vantec NexStar CX 3.5 series, there are both with USB 2.0+ ESATA and also USB3.0 with eSATA.

The USB 2.0 version costs $29 from MSY and Umart.

The USB 3.0 NST-310S3 probably hasn't landed in Australia yet, since it's sold out everywhere. It's $49 from here.

  • Thank you scrimshaw. That was the enclosure I was talking about it. I'll look out for a Nexstar one. Thanks again!
